Simple but effective design
It's pretty simple in its design but works well. Better for medium to large diameter stuff. There is a point where the diameter is too small that it won't grip. It seems pretty well made. I would recommend if you need something like this.

makes the work MUCH easier
Before I got this, I would use a pile of clamps to try... and i mean try because it didnt work most of the time... to hold the logs while I ran the lumberjack mortise tool. This changes the equation. You clamp the log in this and no more problems.Fantastic tool for making log furniture. Cant recommend this enough if you are using the big milling ends.
