Fire danger with the device I received.
Usually I only write the very positive reviews to help other with GOOD stuff but here I have to warn people. Perhaps I got a defect converter but the experience was terrible / dangerous. I needed it for my European lights. So I made sure it was set to 110 to 220V on the switch. I plugged it in and while I had NO LOAD on it, in minutes it got so hot I almost couldn't touch it anymore and the “burning plastic smell” filled the room. Having it on carpet, perhaps it could have started a fire. Again to clarify, NO LOAD / LAMP was plugged in, just to converter connected to the outlet. This is MY experience with the device I received.
