SAWSTOP 10-Inch Professional Cabinet Saw, 1.75-HP, 36-Inch Professional TGlide Fence System (PCS175-TGP236)

I would absolutely recommend this saw. It is sexy and makes me smile every time I walk into the garage. It took me a while to build up to this purchase and I shopped a lot of other saws trying to talk myself out of this one. In the end I got the Sawstop and I couldn't be happier. The truth is there are lots of great cabinet saws on the market and most of them comparable to the Sawstop PCS are around $2,000. At the end of the day I value my hands and figures enough to pay the premium for the Sawstop technology. The saw itself is top notch quality. The items were packaged very well and the instructions were second to none. A PDF of them can be downloaded from the Sawstop website if you want to get an idea of what you are in for before you get the saw. Assembly was not difficult. I did it by myself in about 3 hours. This included the installation of the mobile base. (The standard mobile base is more than sufficient to lift the saw with ease and exceeded my expectations. I'm sure the Industrial base is great but it is overkill for the PCS). I have already used this saw quite a bit and it is a huge improvement over my previous Rigid Jobsite saw. The 36" fence system is perfect for my needs and my space. The fence is dead on and the measuring tape is precise. No more taking the tape measure to double check the fence distance from the blade. It saves me so much time to be able to trust the fence readout. The adjustment wheels are solid and turn smoothly and with ease. It is also quieter than the jobsite saw. I have mainly used it for 4/4 hardwoods so far which it eats up with ease. I haven't put anything thicker through it yet but I have no concerns. It is sturdy, doesn't move or vibrate at all during use. The standard blade it comes with is just OK. Nothing special but I wasn't planning on keeping it in there very long anyways and it is more than enough to get the job done if you don't have a premium blade you prefer. I truly believe this saw is worth the premium. It is a bit more than its competition but it is negligible when compared to an accident/emergency bill. The Sawstop PCS Table saws are top of the line. They have an amazing feature that may save your hand or figures one day and you will be happy you had it. No one expects an accident is going to happen but they do happen. This allows you to stop it before it happens. I wanted to buy a lifetime saw and this was it. In the end my fingers are worth a lot more than $2500 to me. What are yours worth?

It has been a year since my wife "pushed me" to buy my SawStop PCS175 Professional Cabinet Saw Assembly with 36-Inch Professional T-Glide Fence System. I used to have a very simple Black & Decker tablesaw that I bought when installing some wood floor. I do not have words to describe the improvement. The SawStop is a beautiful machine, with top quality US engineering and construction all around. I bought the saw from Amazon because of the convenience in delivery. It arrived Saturday morning and the guy brought the pallet all the way inside my garage. After opening, I realized that a few minor things were damaged during shipping and after taking some pictures I proceeded to put the machine together following the very best instruction booklet I have ever seen by far. This was an easy and exciting task that I did by myself, even thoug they recommended getting some help. I also bought the mobile base which is a must in the garage and easy to setup with the machine. After everything was in place, I wrote an email to the service department at SawStop, including pictures and explaining the problems. I received a quick response and all the replacement parts were in the mail fast. What an excellent service. For my very first cut I decided to finished a fancy frame for my wife. She deserved it. The material was a mix of wood with several epoxy finish including gold leaf. As soon as the blade touched the frame, I heard a shot and the machine stopped. I just knew what had happen. You better learn the setup for special materials if you do not want to have a new and amazing clock for your shop !!! By the way, I included the picture of my clock with my report on the shipping problems and was very happy to find out that SawStop included a new replacement saw and cartridge free of charge. While I learned to use the saw, I also learned what a difference a truly square cut can do to your final work, how easy it is to change blades or dado and all the fun of building jigs. (I have to thank all the guys that put amazing videos in youtube). I finally got into building furniture and I am enjoying woodworking in a new and wonderful dimension. Originally I was using my SawStop along with my Shop-vac in the same circuit, and it worked for a while, until the saw stopped working one day. I did all the troubleshooting and finally contacted the service department again. They responded quickly and sent me plenty of parts and instructions for the possible scenarios. The machine came to life with the first part I changed and everything was covered by warranty. Again I give 5 stars to the service department. Of course, I put the machine in its own breaker after this. I am pretty sure the machine alone without the security system is worth the price. If you love woodworking and are dreaming about a new tablesaw, do not hesitate to go all the way to a SawStop, it will give you peace of mind and excellent cuts that you are really going to enjoy.

Worth every penny (at least to me!). This is a great upgrade over my Delta contractors saw (yeah, I know....). The fit and finish is fantastic. Accuracy is dead on once the saw is set up. Fence is strong and steady. Vertical adjustment is smooth. Tilt adjustment, once set, is great. Be sure to watch a couple of videos on set up. Quite frankly, set up is easy, about the only thing that is a challenge is leveling the cast iron wings (and I highly recommend the cast iron wing upgrade). Mobile base is great. Dust collection blade guard is well designed. I didn't get the 3HP model, but this one has plenty of power, even for resawing oak. For the dado set up, the brake only works with an 8" diameter dado (mine was 7", so I had to buy a new one). Seriously, I've had this saw for about 4 months and love it. Sure, it's a little expensive for a non-pro woodworker, but how much are your fingers worth? I've never had an accident, and don't intend to, but who does? And that's why you need a Sawstop. Love it!

Easy and fun for my STEM kids to assemble. High quality construction and electrical componemts

I waited a long time to buy this saw and anxiously waited for its arrival largely due to its safety features. After I assembled the saw and before turning on the saw, I began to do some simple alignment checks. I was first surprised to note a slight bow in the table top, just to the right of the saw blade. Next I checked to see if the saw blade was parrellel to the miter slot and then if the saw blade was at a 90 degree angle with the table top. To my surprise the blade was not parrellel, nor could the blade be set to 90 degrees to the top. After sending an email to Sawstop, they indicated I should contact them before attempting any adjustments, even though the Owner’s Manual outlined how adjustments needed to be made. After talking to a service rep he initially said he had never heard of such misalignment issues as “the alignment was set at the factory”. After discussing the amount of the misalignment with the service rep he told me to follow the steps outlined in the manual. While the Owner’s Manual is excellent in explaining how to make these adjustments, I have to say this process was both time consuming and not that simple. Having heard all the rave reviews about Sawstop, to say that I was disappointed to find these issues would be an understatement. While I have only purchased dozens of shop equipment in my life, I never have experienced such issues with a piece of equipment. Add to the fact this is not an inexpensive piece of equipment, I have been quite disappointed to date.

As a weekend woodworker, this saw was a lot of money for the amount of use it gets. I upgraded from a portable DeWalt saw that was 1/8th the price that got me through my first couple of years. I wanted something more precise and had more HP and after hearing about the SawStop safety features, I knew that I needed to invest in this. Yes, it's 2x the cost of a comparable saw that is every bit as good, durable, and precise. It's a great, high-quality saw just like a Grizzly, Powermatic, etc. But the selling point is of course the safety features. The peace of mind, knowing that if I make a mistake (hopefully won't ever happen), I will at worst get a few sutures instead of loosing a finger (or worse) is worth every penny. It's a lot of money, but if you use the safety feature just once in 20-30 years, it will be a return on investment that is simply incalculable. As someone who uses their hands for their work (many people do), I can't afford to loose a finger. So this saw in my opinion is a must. And yes, it's a great table saw too. If SawStop would come out with other power tools (router, miter saw, etc) I would replace all of my current equipment as well. The SawStop break system is to a table saw what seat belts and airbags are to a vehicle; essential safety features that don't replace the need to safely operate the equipment. You can still get kickback or other injuries if you aren't careful. But it does prevent the most catastrophic injury that can occur with a table saw. If you are serious about hobbyist (weekend) woodworking, I would highly recommend this saw.

I have no complaints about the saw. I bought this through Amazon. It arrived without all the parts and I ended up having to purchase the parts again since Amazon would not assist me. Better to just avoid the middleman on this one.

So many of the reviews sing the praises of Sawstop cabinet saws that one might suspect a bit of ballot stuffing is afoot. Seriously, are these table saws that good? In a word: Better. Having owned numerous saws of every stripe over 40+ years, I spent 6 months researching what I hoped would be my last table saw purchase. And I approached the task with considerable skepticism and the mentality of a scientist. Here are my conclusions. 1. Sawstop could have relied much more heavily on their breakthrough technology to sell their saws and cut back on the materials and workmanship, and they would still have sold tons of saws. They could have cut corners, but they didn’t. 2. Materials. Except for the rather cheaply constructed extension table and the less-than-stellar saw blade that comes with the saw, the materials are 5-star. 3. Workmanship. Precise, top-notch, excellent. 5 stars. 4. Instructions. Stellar. So many manufacturers fail miserably here. Sawstop’s assembly, adjustment, and use instructions are the best I’ve seen. 5+ stars. 5. Customer Service. I haven’t needed to contact them yet. 6. Global Assessment. Above and beyond. 5+ stars. That said, I offer one caveat: The folks at Sawstop put a tremendous amount of time, effort, and brain-power into their saws. When it arrives at your home, you’re tasked with reading the instructions carefully and taking the time necessary to put it together with the same diligence and attention to detail that its makers did. Nearly every complaint I’ve read in reviews is the result of user error. Seriously. I know you’re excited and want to put your new beast to work quickly. Don’t. Put your brain and hands on the most deliberate, methodical speed you can manage. Get every detail correct, precise, exact. That’s the way it was built. I’ve been working with my saw now for 8 months. It has done everything I’ve demanded from it, and it has exceeded my expectations. This is the last saw I’ll ever need for furniture building, construction, and a lifetime of enjoyment. Sawstop for me ranks with Incra, Whiteside, Woodworkers Source, and a small handful of companies that continue to live by Old World manufacturing standards and principles.
