Useful go-to reference for the serious dancer
This is a very intelligently presented and useful book aimed at the non-medically trained dancer who wants both a sound introduction to movement anatomy and strategies for improving the way they use and look after their body. The technical aspect of things is clearly explained without dumbing down and the writer is able to connect concepts to the dancer’s experience and concerns. The illustrations are well done, the suggested exercises are clearly explained, and the overall organisation of the book is very good. I own a number of books on dance anatomy; some are more technical and/or comprehensive than this one, some are even more pragmatic/practical, but it’s the Haas book that I return to most frequently.

Highly recommend!
As a physical therapist and a dance teacher I can appreciate this book in many ways. It does a great job of explaining the relevant anatomy and provides exercises that are more specific for dance as compared to traditional strengthening.
