I have owned a Pico for several years and keep it in the fold of my wallet for use in writing emergencies such as conjuring up a few lines of verse while sitting in accident and emergency waiting to have a 2H pencil removed from my ear. I asked the doctor if he'd ever seen a Lamy and would he like to take a peek at my Pico. I had to spend some considerable time explaining that 'Lamy' was not a derogatory term for some old dear in the fracture clinic but imagine my surprise when he revealed that he had a collection of old Lamys in his coat pocket, every single one of them in need of a refill! How's that for irony?I do find that the more I use the pen, the sooner I seem to use up the ink, but after comparing notes with several other writers, I found that I am not alone in making this discovery. It's not been backed up by any scientific studies but it seems that the best solution is to think more and write less.I hate to admit that I toyed with the idea of ordering two of these refills but then I started to imagine how I would feel if I misplaced the spare one and had to waste a whole weekend trying to find it, not to mention the expense. In the end I took advice from an old friend in Bangalore who said he would give it some thought and get back to me. Some friend he turned out to be!Anyway, the refill is a thoroughly excellent product that completely satisfied my desire to restart my frustrated writing pursuits. In common with most black refills, the ink in this Lamy refill is also black, but not so black as to be depressing. To avoid the undesirable attributes of blotching, spotting, and excessive drippage, I took the precaution of replacing the medium nib with a nib of exactly the same type and I must say, this was a wise decision - probably the only wise decision I have ever made.On a negative note: I found that it did very little to improve my punctuation or spelling, but what do you expect for the price?For those of you in a festive mood: be warned, due to its small size, this refill would not make an ideal stocking filler.

Bought two pieces of this M22 refill for my Pico. They came in individual resealable bag. Very nice packaging. Quality is A-OK. But I'd prefer F tip than the M tip. M is typical ball point pen boldness but F is personally better for day to day use.

Good value for money for a nice writing refill.

Love this pen, so useful, size reduces to fit pocket perfectly, the ink is great and writing so smooth. Best practical pen ever, hence purchased refill .
