Just remove a screen for the PCI Express slot, insert the card and connect the monitor cable. When Windows started up, it found the new video card and automatically installed the drivers. I rebooted one more time and everything seemed to be working well. To test, I started up a G5 game that had choked the system before. Now the game runs smooth as silk and task manager shows that the NVIDIA GeForce gpu and the i5 processor were both just idling along. Separating the video from the main board really took a load off the system. It runs like a new machine now and text especially is sharper, or more crisp and well defined. My eyes are very happy with the improved clarity. I am super happy with the end result. This upgrade was a test and spending $120 on it saved me at least $800 over the new machine I had been looking at. It may not run quite as fast as that new machine would have, but everything it runs is very smooth and fast enough for me.
