KanSmart 12V 250A Winch Solenoid Relay Contactor for ATV UTV 3000-5000lbs

Just installed in my bass boat to power my Atlas jackplate replacing the expensive and unreliable OEM relay. Working great so far. Got the replacement hack on you tube. The only problem that concerns me is it gets very hot very quickly when raising or lowering the jackplate. I would not mount it near combustibles. Due to the heat issue I’m not sure about its longevity. Only time will tell.

Installed this switch to replace the bulky wired remote that came with my winch. It takes some planning and thought to mount the switch and solenoid in a good spot. The solenoid was a bit tricky to find a place to mount in my case, but I ultimately placed it in the under-seat storage. Because the way the seat fits, I had to drill holes in the box to route the wiring so it wouldn’t interfere with the seat. One complaint I have is the switch wire connectors/terminals were installed backwards, so I had to cut them off and replace them (in was wired as “out” and out wired as “in”. Easy to fix, but a careless mistake from the maunfacturer). Minus one star for that.

Really looked works good identical to what I purchased in 2008 for my plow. Only differences is the wiring connectors are different than what’s on my vehicle so I just had to swap those out but that may not be a problem for others but for the price is great fine I would highly suggest it all the color coding is there not a lot of screwing around unhook the old one blue, the blue red red and so on and everything Works great

So my winch stopped working ordered this new solenoid and with in 15 mins had it fixed and works like new very easy install

I bought this to replace my failing solenoid. It bolted right on the same as the old and works good

Got this in reasonable amount of time. Bought it to control an actuator that lifts and lowers my snowplow. Came with instructions and was straight forward install. Feels well built and I'm sure will serve me well.
