There have been a few very scary times when we would be on a walk and she would see "her" stray cat friend. She gets REALLY excited to see her friend and if im not expecting it, she has gotten away from me a few times. When this happened she chases the cat wherever it goes and was not responding to the emergency voice cues. When she hears the whistle, she stops in her tracks and comes right back. It doesn't sound like much to my ear but it's been very effective with her. I watched YOUTUBE videos on how to use and train with the whistle..There was also a video that compared the sounds of the different models. I was able.to easily pick out the model that she responded best to. All in all very happy with this purchase.
