My old computer just got new life
My faithful gen 8 i5 desktop computer began struggling with graphics (game and other video) on a 2560x1440 resolution monitor. Task Manager showed that the onboard Intel gpu and main processor were both working hard to keep up. After wincing at the cost to replace it, I started looking for a good way to help it stop choking. This GeForce card showed up while browsing and comparing features and it looked good. It has 4GB of DDR4 RAM, which is the same speed as the memory my computer already runs. Plus, it also has a Display port output, which I already use. That made good sense to me and the price was right, so I thought I'd give it a try. Installation was easy. Just remove a screen for the PCI Express slot, insert the card and connect the monitor cable. When Windows started up, it found the new video card and automatically installed the drivers. I rebooted one more time and everything seemed to be working well. To test, I started up a G5 game that had choked the system before. Now the game runs smooth as silk and task manager shows that the NVIDIA GeForce gpu and the i5 processor were both just idling along. Separating the video from the main board really took a load off the system. It runs like a new machine now and text especially is sharper, or more crisp and well defined. My eyes are very happy with the improved clarity. I am super happy with the end result. This upgrade was a test and spending $120 on it saved me at least $800 over the new machine I had been looking at. It may not run quite as fast as that new machine would have, but everything it runs is very smooth and fast enough for me. Thinking back, I should have bought it sooner.

Good video card to play through HDMI
Good video card at a reasonable price. I bought it for my new LINUX system, and it displays on a large screen TV. Sound and picture are great.

Intro Gaming Video Card
Great video card for entry level gaming. Love the stability too. I purchased 2 of them for my Dell computers as a slight upgrade.

Good for price, not what I expected
Pretty good gpu for the price but it has been kinda buggy when I would crank up the watt usage and core/vram mhz on msi afterburner. Definitely recommend it if you have a power supply less than 300 watts. I’ve seen videos of people using the gt-1030 in Minecraft and getting crazy fps going up to 300-400 but when I play it’s buggy and can’t get anywhere above 60 fps. I’m not sure why the one I got is like this but I bet I can fix it somehow.

Good little GPU
I have an old HP 700-406 Envy home tower from 2015. It had an APU (integrated graphics) and 12 GB of DDR3 RAM. I upgraded the RAM to its max of 32GB and added this MSI graphics card. It plays games like World of Warships, World War Z, and other titles great. The card has also enhanced browsing and streaming on YouTube. I also only have the 350w power supply that came with the PC, with no cable to run a larger GPU. The MSI card runs off the motherboard slot power, at something like 35w, just sitting there and sipping power as it trucks along. No complaints about this GPU, especially for what I’m asking of it.

Underpowered for some gaming but better than onboard graphics
This is probably a good video card for the right system. I had to return this one because it lacked the ability to process games adequately. I installed this into a basic low-performance Dell machine. I decided to start playing some games on Steam and I needed a little bit more than what the on-board graphics offered. Installation was quick and easy. However, the FPS on most games was well below 60 for that smooth gaming experience. I wasn't expecting 144FPS, only enough to not have the game lag and drop frames even on undemanding games. If you have a system like mine where the graphics are powered by the board instead of the power supply, you are limited on performance choices. Being limited to 75 watts I chose a 3050 which fit the bill, but I have to watch my power consumption which so far hasn't been an issue. Most games run smoothly with a little lag here and there I can live with.

Not the best but for the price it's good
It's worth the price but I would like to know what the best model is I don't want super great GPU but I wouldn't mind one a little better and the driver for it isn't anywhere near as good as some others out there

Bad value but has digital outputs
It seems like there's no longer any stock, but the value was objectively quite bad when I bought it. However, I did specifically need the 2 digital outputs of DisplayPort and HDMI, and it fit the bill.
