This is an accurate device that has been very helpful in cabinet install. Measuring inside cabinets for shelving is not very accurate to do with a tape measure with face frame cabinets because you have to bend the tape (or add the length of the tape measure frame). Putting the back side of this laser measure to an inside cabinet wall makes this a very easy and accurate way to measure. One of the negative reviews from a seemingly confused user that complains about this measure defaulting from the back side. My decades long experience with all the construction trades makes the back side default much more logical - if you have to line the front end of the measure up with an edge it wouldn't be as accurate from the starting end and if you were measuring anything other than something out in the open a front side default would be stupid to use, I can't imagine what the confused user measures so frequently from the front side. Measuring any interior dims requires the back end default which also provides a nice square back end to work from. It is also nice that it shows the incline angle for running drain lines at proper drainage pitch while measuring the length and required locations of the pipe ends. I am happy with the purchase, time will tell if it holds up but so far I am very impressed and I don't usually give 5 star reviews of most tools.

I originally purchased the model just below this one from Lowes (GLM400C). After a day of use it did not deliver because of not having the ability to actually save the image with the measurements. Purchased this unit here because Lowes does not carry it and it was leaps and bounds much more capable in every way. Before laser measurements Used fish tape Had to stop and record each measurement Had to go back and forth multiple times to hook my tape Reeling tape on a tile roof is not easy Overall a very time consuming process With the GLM400C Tape eliminated Still had to record or remember each location for each measurement. Able to pull up the measurements later from history and the order they were taken, but without pictures, it was difficult to remember from where to where each measurement was taken from, which didn't really help in saving time Quite heavy, not rechargeable GLM400CL Did all I needed No more back and forth on a roof Saves pictures so determining sq footage later was a breaze Also the pictures alleviated a customers concerns on square footage claims when mine didnt match another contractors, but I had pictures Very professional in the eyes of a customer Much lighter weight and rechargeable If you need to take many measurements and pull them later, this is the unit no question. The model below this will be perfect for single measurements needed on demand or measurements that would be easy to sort later because your application is more suitable. For the price difference, I'd say purchasing the CL over the C is reasonable in nearly every instance. 50 dollars thereabouts. Bosch delivered on this for my needs. I would pay more for all the same features with the addition of A higher resolution and brighter display for better viewing in the sun More zoom More refined code (software) and button interface for easier navigation Higher intensity laser Addition of green laser. Meaning having 2 seperate lasers in one unit to toggle between Sd card slot or abilty to quick transfer to phone or computer without the aid of additional app The app is free currently but leaves much to be desired. Im confident that it will get better with time Bosch had an 800 foot unit in the past but I believe it's discontinued. Overall, for under the 300 dollar mark and the next unit is an x4 or x5 (i'm unsure) from a different manufacturer, id say this cant be beat at the moment from any other competitor. I absolutely love this laser measuring device! I purchased this for work, measuring the exterior of building walls, and building heights. The camera view finder is amazing! I chose this specific model because I wanted to internal, rechargeable battery instead of the AA batteries. I am not disappointed! The battery life is great even when using the camera view finder. It's got all the functions you can think of, and it's fully customizable to meet your needs/preferences. The screen can be a bit difficult to see while out in the bright sun, but it's definately not a deal breaker. I purchased a Bosch tripod to go with it for the times I need my measuring to be more precise (compared to just free standing). A coworker has a another device from a different make, and it's well over double the price, and while working together we noticed that the Bosch has a few extra functions, as well as some easier to use functions. This device has already paid for itself in time saving from having to measure building using other traditional methods of measuring wheels or tapes. I definately recommend this Bosch laser measuring device to anyone who does any sort of interior/exterior measuring. If I could give this 10 stars I would!
