I have had an English mixed spice once before from a different seller and loved it. This was not what I was expecting. The main ingredient is allspice and I like that flavor, but I find it overwhelming in this mix. I expected a mix that could be used in sweet (ish) baked goods. This spice is more savory and would be better suited to dinner meat.

I started using this spice combo in receipes such as pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheese cake. It made just a slight difference that made my dishes unique. I highly recommend it for your Holliday cooking.

I can't directly compare because I'm out, but it smells more like McCormick Pumpkin Pie Spice than Schwartz Mixed Spice. Too cinnamony. Different texture, too. I plan to make a ginger cake directly, I'll rave or rant about it after I've baked with it.

I am English and have so missed my sweet mixed spice.

I've hunted for probably 30 years, for this spice blend!, this is my second purchase, more choice this time!Of course I use it in all my baking, but also add a little to my beef pie filling and, or, stews/casseroles gives a lovely, deep, rich flavour!

I got this for a holiday gift. It was great! Used it to make a pumpkin pie and my family ate it right up and wanted more. I also added it to hot chocolate and a chocolate mousse and the flavors were perfect. This is better tasting and a better melding of flavors over your typical pumpkin pie spice. I think the Mace kicked it up a notch. I love the name of the spice tpp.
