Perugina Dark Orangello Chocolate Pack of 12 Bar

This is one of a few chocolates that I can handle on a regular basis due to allergies and it has become almost impossible to find locally. Perugina milk chocolate is very pure and has a wonderful mouth feel and low melting point. I think those who were not as happy with this chocolate received bars that contained Americanized ingredients, such as soy lecithin. I'm not sure where or when the recipe changed, but you want the ones with sunflower lecithin and natural vanilla flavor.This Perugina milk chocolate is made in Italy and the ingredients are: sugar, milk, cocoa butter, chocolate, milk fat, sunflower lecithin, and natural vanilla flavor.

I ordered this chocolate for my wife as a Christmas gift. I typically get some new brand or concentration of chocolate every holiday just to try it out.PROs:* My wife loved the chocolate (and so did I, when she wasn't looking...)* The dark chocolate with almonds has a good flavor and is not overpowering.* The chocolate is not overly sweetened, just right for my taste.CONs:* Not much in the way of flavor descriptions and ratings at this time.* This may be too sweet for some people who like very strong dark chocolate.THE BOTTOM LINE:* I will definitely buy this again.

Found these in a store while on vacation - picked up 2 bars - these 2 were simply amazing, complex flavor, very smooth, a true taste treat to be savored as it melts in you mouth. ( note: I eat 70% to 100% content all the time, I know what to expect. I know these are not typical hershey or nestle bars, those are ~80% sugar)So I see they were available here and got a 10 pack. 10 pack was a different batch. Night and day! Complex flavor - not this time, very smooth - yes it was, a true taste treat - well not as much. Fact is there will always be lot to lot variations, expect it. This kind of dynamic range is not what I expected. Was it good - yes, was it better than good - well maybe a little. Fact is they did get consumed, not given away or tossed. Would I buy them again - yes but only in person - buy 1 to evaluate the lot - if I like it, then buy more of the same lot.

I love the Perugina dark chocolate bars. I buy them all the time at my local markets but I had never seen the lemon flavor before. When I saw it here,I definitely wanted to try it and I had confidence that Perugina would excel at making this combo delicious. I was not disappointed.The lemon flavor is not infused throughout the chocolate, it comes from tiny bits of lemon crunch that are scattered throughout the bar. They provide a very subtle hint of lemon, nice and tangy and in perfect harmony with the dark chocolate.I'm definitely getting these again. I wish I could put them on Subscribe and Save.

This chocolate is pure indulgence. The dark chocolate sprinkled through with lemon is tantalizing to say the least. If you like dark chocolate and lemon together this is the chocolate for you, so decadent it is hard to say No.

There is an explanation for the wide divergence of reviews on this product.This used to be an outstanding chocolate, the best for the money out of all that I have had. But late last year the formula changed. Attaching side-by-side photos. The major difference is that they added "(processed with alkali)" - which is the telltale of mediocre-at-best chocolate.You can also see the difference in packaging, the previous good one had a vertical stripe, as still pictured on this product page. The actual delivered product has the solid background.One star for massive disappointment.

I have eaten chocolate from around the world and this, to my taste, is the best ever! When my local grocery store stopped carrying it, I was delighted to find it on Amazon! Rich in flavor with a great snap! I’m dairy free and this chocolate is scrumptious without any milk, butter, or cream! It has saved this chocolate lover allergic to dairy!

I was nervous about purchasing again, but VERY happy I did. We bought a box last year and ALL bars were broken, actually shattered and somewhat stale. I didn't file for a return, but glad I gave it another chance. So delicious!!!
