Loving this one!
It is just a masterpiece, certainly a bit complex but a rewarding experience.

VERY fun and challenging game! Excellent adaptation from the original
A friend has the original game and we love it so much that I wanted to get it. This version (NZ) is a great game that has several improvements from the original and enough difference to make it a fun alternative to play. It's not the easiest game to learn, but if you know the original, it's a simple teach. I would recommend the original if you've never played before, otherwise I like this one better. I prefer the cow theme of the original, but the ability to shear sheep is a welcome upgrade.

Heavy and enjoyable strategy
This is a heavy game. That's either a warning or a recommendation depending on what kind of gamer you are. The decisions to be made are many and layered, but the satisfaction of gameplay comes from making the tough choices you're called upon to make. The theme works and is enjoyable (assuming you find sheep ranching interesting). The game takes a bit of learning, but as long as you're not looking for immediate gratification or a 15-minute fix, the payoff is worth the effort. The solo mode for the game is quite good, as well.

Intense but fun thematic game
Wonderful game but sometimes a little difficult to interpret the rules. It apparently plays similar to previous Great Western Trail games but with some significant differences. I have not played the others. A great reference for rule clarification is Board Game Geek. Many paths to victory with counter-picking opportunities. Has good Automa to enable solo play.

Good game. Poor packing.
Game is really good, but my box came dented in on two of the corners and it does not open and close very well. The game was put inside a large box with no padding and obviously got banged around a lot in transit.

Gamers game!
This is not for the beginner in board games. However, if you want a challenge that is fun, engaging, and you like spending time with friends away from screens. Then this is your game. Vibrant and varied, this game will open your mind to a range of new games that are miles away from the old familiars of monopoly, clue, etc. If you like Settlers of Catan and want more challenge than ticket to ride buy this game!! Lots of fun.

This is the perfect board game for our family!
The board is beautiful and fun, and the sheep are cute. You can increase the number of ways and times to earn money and place discs, and you can also receive bonus cards, so you can play more easily and enjoyably than the basics! The movement of the Automa player is also wonderful, and the three-person play with my wife and Automa player is really fun! This is the perfect board game for our family!

Just unboxed the game to find out that it's missing the building tiles for 2 players. The box has an additional punch board for the coins instead. Was so anxious to table the game today and this just makes me extremely sad and frustrated.

GWT NZ introduces more deck building options that give you more control of the game and can lead to some really satisfying combos. In my opinion each version of GWT deserves a place on our shelves, they each play differently enough and introduces increasing complexity across the three versions (Original, Argentina, New Zealand). I have to give it a 10/10 again, I just love these games so much.

Really enjoy this game and more depth than the original GWT. Quite a long set up time each game due to number of pieces and cards. Worth it though if you like euro style games
