5 Second Rule Relay - Family Party Game - Electronic Relay Baton - Shout It Out & Pass It Fast! - for 2 or More Players, for Kids Ages 8 and Up

Did not play this game before the five second baton, but passing the baton around makes the game so much fun. It was a hit at our Christmas party.!!!

The adults & kids enjoyed the game! I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time! Overall a great game that anyone can play. Not intimidating at all!

On the plus side there is a huge variety of subjects on sturdy cards the you could play with for a long time and never repeat a topic. The timer thing works great and even the younger ones could work it well without any way to cheat with it. We didn't pay close enough attention to how it was boxed up and none of us could figure out how the wand would go back in the box which is frustrating to have an extra part you can't put back in the box for storage. The problem was, that it is not a family game unless you have very mature children with a sense of fair play. Our experience quickly disintegrated into " you could have cheesecake flavored chips if you wanted to" type comments. I still would have kept it to play with adults only but the packaging was too frustrating so I returned it.

The 5 Second Rule Relay Party Game is quick continuous short rounds of answering corresponding answers to the word/prompt cards and passing the baton to the next player within 5 seconds. Some game rules can be added or changed as well to try to refresh the simplistic game. It can get really fast paced and wild from the ticking timer after each pass. Due to the nature of the game, the number of players does affect some of the difficulty in coming up with new unique answers that weren't already said if one’s position is further away from the starting player. Teams can be decently implemented as well. The baton is arguably an improvement versus the twisted timer. It resets right on the pass, and the interactive audio adds a bit of urgency and audio cue for 5 seconds passing. Over time the music can start to get somewhat repetitive and bland. The baton’s battery cover requires a standard Phillips screwdriver. It doesn’t have a plastic latch, so it is solely secured and held by the screw, which unfortunately is somewhat cumbersome during initial setup and battery replacements. The battery is quite prone to be unset unless the cover is on due to the design. The plastic case is just okay. It will hold the contents, but there is the possibility that it can pop open if pressed against in a bag or something. It already has 2 clear rubber bands to hold it together when first opening the box, so not exactly the best design for securing the contents without potentially accidentally spilling out. Overall, this quick-rounds-in-continuous-spurts game is quite fun and appropriate for a wide age group, since all that’s needed is knowledge of words and association. Although it offers quite a number of word/prompt cards, it may get a bit boring quicker since the short rounds can start getting repetitive or be somewhat draining after a while.

Given as a gift and they loved it.

So much fun. The wand is a perfect timer. No one can say they answered in time, when they did not.. We play with a host asking the questions and pressing the timer wand. so may laughs... you just have to get it..
