I bought this pen as a Christmas gift for my daughter. The pen worked for a while but then stopped working. I took this opportunity to teach my daughter how to handle customer service issues herself. So my 12yr old, contacted the company's customer service department and informed them she was 12yr old. First off, the level of professionalism of this group was amazing, even speaking to a young person. I, of course, closely monitored what transpired through my email account. The company sent a replacement pen. No questions asked, only asked to return the previous equipment. After receiving the replacement, it instantly failed. After this occurrence, I investigated the pen myself, and could smell a burning smell inside the pen. This led me to believe that the motor had burned up, and to do so right out of the box it had to be the power supply. After emailing customer service about this, they sent a new pen and new power supply immediately, no questions asked. We then sent them back the old equipment and the old power supply for them to test. It was in fact a faulty power supply that caused the issues. The company representative even followed up with me to let me know what they found after testing. The company reps were actually reaching out to us to make sure things were correct, and that we were happy with the product. There were a few times during the process that we actually forgot and the reps reminded us that they wanted to help us. Superb customer service, never dealt with better people.

I bought this for my granddaughter. She said she looks forward to the challenge of making 3 D dodads.

I was stumped on what to get my 11 year old for Christmas. After looking at 3D printers and wood laser engravers, I went with this pen, since it was the least expensive and I wasn't sure if he'd like it. Well, he LOVES it. He was able to pick it up and start using it right away. It did take a bit of trial and error for him to figure out how to control it, but he's been able to make some pretty cool things so far. The problem is that these things break. We've been able to clear any jams/clogs relatively easily, but the first one completely stopped working within a month. Tech support was AMAZING. They responded quickly, gave us some things to try, and ultimately sent out a replacement, which arrived within a few days. Upon getting the old unit back they gave us an update and told us the heating element stopped working, it was a manufacturing defect, nothing we could do to prevent it. The replacement item is also having problems now. I've done some adjustments per the manufacturer, and he's still having problems. This one might have to go back as well. These are really cool when they work, they just aren't made well. And from what I've seen, most 3D pens are the same. Next time I'll spend extra and get something that'll last longer and be a little less frustrating.

I’m a huge fan of 3Doodler products - so much that I’ve purchased each pen they have offered. The problem I always had was that their pens used a filament that was hard to justify purchasing for my typical large projects. I’d found a financial balance between using 1.75mm filament pens and 3Doodler 3.0mm filament pens for my large products. The 3doodler pens never let me down. They lasted for years. The many 1.75mm pens with cheaper color options failed me more times I can count. Now the 3Doodler gods have answered my prayers. They have performed the miracle of marrying their reliable technology with the many artistic options of 1.75mm filament. The pen is also compatible with the accessories I purchased over the years. This artist couldn’t be happier! Thank you 3Doodler.

I bought this for my daughter and now we are both enjoying it. It is easy to use and so far we have no problem with it. I like the metal nozzle tip as it is sturdy and I think is easier to work with and clean. There are descent number of seller of filaments on Amazon that fit this model, although definitely not as many as other brands. But we are happy with what we can buy already. If I don’t understand wrong, there are different shaped nozzle tip replacements we can buy and change for this pen.

Good first pen! However not till after purchase and use I realized you HAVE to use 3doodler filaments only 4 off brands are to thin n is stated in after market reading. MUST run from wall outlet. usb use keeps shutting off after 3-4sec of use and u can hear motor struggling. PIC shows 1 drk blue filament stick that's all u get. Like I said nice first 3d pen. If u going to really use pen, step up to pro models and don't waste money on this. Product is sturdy and easy to use though. 2spd settings which is nice. Want just for fun, buy the product. Remember though have to use 3d doodlers filaments. I really don't like when manufacture force their refills only. If someone knows different in this please let me know alternatives, for I have a bunch of purch. Filaments I can not use with this pen.

Unfortunately I can only share my experience. But it was horrendous to say the least. I decided to naively go with a used one that they claimed was literally like new and had absolutely nothing wrong with it, only thing was the package had been opened. They claimed that was it. So I thought what the hey let’s give it a try. Huuuuuge mistake. You could have seen this thing was horrible and broken trash from a mile away. I call bull crap anyone even looked at this ever. I open the box to find pure chaos…trash in there, kids Pokémon card, and a broken, pathetic excuse for a product. It was missing the tip that screwed into the end, as well as the silicon like area around the tip of it was all broke and pulled off just hanging there, the clear light area looked like someone tried to rip it off but failed and was broken, then to top it off they had jammed a piece into the thing so you couldn’t even fill it. but I tried giving it a chance anyone, figured no way they’d send this out to a customer like this and not have it work. Well thank god I tried it before one of the kids picked it up bc this thing started to over heat instantly and started smoking horribly and burnt the crap out of me. We immediately unplugged it due to the dangerous and fire hazards it so clearly was… save yourself some time, energy, pain, and much more by either not getting this brand at all or getting a brand new one. Pure greed is all I saw in this box as well as zero customer service. Just so disappointed. I honestly am still in shock over this. Never in my whole life have I experienced something like this at least not this bad and dangerous.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Was a Christmas gift for my 14 year old. He loves it! Seems easy to use, works well with other brand filaments we got here on Amazon. Easy to clean too.
