Question 1

One reviewer has stated that the IRIS pen 7 is not compatible with Windows 8. Have others had the same experience?

Even worst, it will not install on Win-7 either. Understand - It installs ok. It just wont connect to the reg server, when I know my Hi-Speed connection is working fine. It ask you to enter code then click "Activate Now!". So I do, then you get an error message - #0: Machine offline or Server down. It also states "Received content of invalid content (when I know it's right.) So tech support e-mailed me a 2nd activation code, it still didn't work either. So then it states - You are not registered. So I go online to their site and register. It still will not connect to their server to activate. It's Their Server That Is The Problem. Tech says they want permission to look inside my computer. NEVER! It's the only program that I could not install Ever!!!

Does it scan handwriting?

It is the best version thus far. It is easy to maneuver and the number of mistakes relatively to other versions is small. Highly recommended!

Does it work with black background and white letter?

Does the pen scan a pdf document and converts it into an editable word document ?

It can scan any printed document and convert it to editable text. So if you have a PDF document, you can simply print the page(s), then use the pen to scan and convert to editable text. If you have full page documents you want to convert, you can also use ReadIRIS Pro 14 OCR (available for PC or MAC on Amazon)  which can open the PDF file and convert the entire page to an editable format.
