Yes, open space. I'm not worried about it. They'd have to be pretty determined to get in to really use that space, IMO.

I didn’t receive any screws for my door. Are they suppose to be included?

It's been a while since I put mine in but I don't believe screws were included. I used some short bolts with washers and nuts to spread the tension around each hole. It's held up well and the screen it's mounted into hasn't torn

Is this door big enough for Labrador retrievers?

We have a Brittany Spaniel that measures 23" at the shoulder and weighs 52 lbs. She clears the sides and top with about 2" per side clearance. For a Lab you might want to consider one size larger than the model we got because Labs tend to get big and bulky. This door has been great for us. It saves a lot of getting up and down to let the dog in or out. Good quality too.

Für innen gut

Die Katzenklappe funktioniert einwandfrei. Wurde in eine 48 mm Dicke Innentüre ohne Probleme eingebaut. Die Katzen haben es zum Teil sehr schnell verstanden wie man hindurch kann, einige andere erst nach ein paar Tagen. Ich würde sagen das es sich gelohnt hat und die Qualität stimmt.

Not too bad to install.

I just installed this by myself, without taking the screen door down. Had to use one of my feet to help hold it in place for the first screw. It was fairly easy to finish after that. Works fine. Now the real challenge is getting my chihuahua to actually use it.
