It jams and is good.
I have owned several other tuners that were 5.2. They sucked in comparison. This is a fine tuner. It sounds great! It was an easy setup and works GREAT with my Bose squares from years ago.

Nice budget receiver
I added this as I was looking for a basic surround receiver with a phono input. This works well and produces a nice clear sound.Easy to use and value priced. Keep in mind, this is more entry level when it comes to Denon but for us this as the correct choice.

Fantastic Sound Quality
This receiver is fantastic. I have it in my bedroom connected via e-arc hdmi to my Amazon firetv powering 5 klipsch reference speakers and klipsch home theater sub. There's zero hiss or static. It sounds great and the bluetooth connects instantly. The included mic was able to set all the speaker distances for me. The menu can be a little intimidating, but after an hour or so I was able to figure it all out. I did download the manual, but didn't really need it. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. I think you'd be hard pressed to find another receiver that's this good for the price. Denon makes a fine product.

Great features at a good price & easy setup
Excellent value and exactly what I was hoping for. I came from using a Yamaha HDMI receiver that was randomly shutting itself off. I also have a 4k projector and the receiver only passed 1080 resolution so it was time for an upgrade. I already have wall mounted surround so I wanted something capable of hooking up to my existing speakers and powered subwoofer. I did a bit of research and landed on this Denon. I felt like it would be an almost unnoticeable upgrade but two things really stick out for me. First, the Denon and HEOS apps that allow streaming music and second, the surround configuration. I almost never listened to Bluetooth music on my old system because if I walked too far away it'd drop or stutter. Now I find myself listening to streaming audio using HEOS almost every day. When you go in and select a genre or station the Denon turns on automatically and just starts playing. It's great. The sound configuration on my old system always seemed weak from the surround speakers. I always had to manually select 5 channel surround and even then it was not even sounding. With this receiver, I did the auto configuration using the included microphone and set the sound mode for HEOS to multi channel stereo and it's done. The sound is even throughout the room. Surround movies sound great and look nice in 4k. All this was at the discount of Amazon Renewed so about $100 less than a new one. I'm happy.

Quality Unit
I bought this as a gift for my son. We hooked it up to his home ET Center, and it does very well.

Solid, powerful receiver
I’m quite happy with this receiver. It’s sturdy and well-made, it sounds phenomenal and has more than enough power for my speakers (KEF Q150s), and supports a wide array of inputs, switching seamlessly between my TV’s HDMI ARC and my turntable’s line. It’s also easy to set up, with a smart process that custom-tailors the sound to the profile of the room and speaker configuration. My only complaint is that in my experience, the HEOS audio connectivity is a bit unreliable. When trying to play Spotify from my iphone via airplay, sometimes it works fine, sometimes there’s substantial lag, and sometimes it refuses to connect at all. For what it’s worth, I don’t know if this is a Spotify problem, an Apple problem, or a Denon problem, but in any case, the HEOS interface is finicky. Other than that, for all wired applications, I absolutely love this receiver. It’s powerful, easy to use, and sounds crystal clear.

Bluetooth Nightmares
Purchased to replace aging Yamaha. When first ran it, setup was a breeze. eARC worked perfectly. The sound coming out of my Miller/Kreisels was magnificent. And the Bluetooth SUCKs. It will connect. Not connect. I have been fighting this for a month. Purchased 3 BT headphones to see if that was the issue. Nawp. Confirmed after MUCH testing and MUCH burned time, it is the unit. Countless Factory resets to get it working again.Yes, am well aware of the HEOS function. That if HEOS is selected, BT will not work. One of the problems is this is NOT clear. There is no clear function to reset BT, get it off of HEOS, clear the memory, whatever. Once it gets locked up, it is locked up. And no amount of fussing short of Factory Reset will solve it. Which I have had to do about every 4 days.Am returning. I can’t keep fighting this. And Denon support… forget it. If I had even an inkling that they KNEW this was a problem and that they were working on the problem and would be releasing software updates, I’d be down with it. But forget it.Returning...

Excellent sound!
Excellent pure sound. Movies and TV via E Arc hdmi input produces the best movie and TV sound rivaling movie theaters and surpassing greatly TV sound only.Start up is a bit complicated but very achievable.

Prefect for my setup.
I purchased this for a new system I put together for my newly renovated living room. I didn't need anything more than a 5.2 system and the choices are limited. The TV is a new OLED LG with all the new features that HDMI2 offers, so I wanted an AVR that could take advantage of them. Wow, what an upgrade from my old AVR. Easy to program, easy to setup, and there is more than enough power for my needs. Now if I was 20 again (I hate to admit I was 20 in the 80's) I would likely have gone with the higher end unit that would piss off my neighbors, but don't think that this one does not have the power to put some punch in your audio system. My new setup has 2 slimline ML speakers flanking my TV, a ML center channel speaker under the TV, and a SVS subwoofer, and to be honest the sound quality with this AVR is more than I could have hoped for. The space is a full open concept with 18' ceilings and it can more than fill the entire area with high quality sound. I have yet to test the full output abilities of the system. So long story short, I am very happy with this AVR.

Excellent item. Almost too good with huge sub menus. But it does a good job.

High quality, worth the cost.
Super easy to install and the setup wizard is very easy to understand. The app works well, too. Syncs with iPhone and wifi seamlessly.I see what others are saying about how it stays on “by itself”. But I don’t know if I accidentally left it on, or if I was using the Bluetooth function from my phone and it turned itself on after leaving the room and watching a video on the phone or something like that.Overall the receiver works wonderfully I would recommend for a 5.2 setup. Excellent quality I’m impressed.
