I am trying to incorporate the Curly Girl Method into my hair care routine. This shampoo has a few ingredients that "still need more research" according to Curlsbot. Here is the full list of ingredients in case anyone is curious. I couldn't find anywhere online. I typed this off the back of the actual bottle. Aqua (water/eau), sodium c14-16 olefin sulfonate, cocamidopropyl betaine, cocamide dea, acrylates copolymer, glycerin, polyquarternium-7, parfum (fragrance), disodium edta, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, ci 60730 (ext. violet 2), ci 60725 (violet 2), ci77891 ( titanium dioxide), mica, peg-12 dimethicone.

Value for money is something we so seldom get these days, and that’s a shame. Once in a while though, products do come along that offer great value for money, and this is one of those times. If you have dyed, tinted or colored hair and want to cut down the red and gold highlights while toning down the brassiness of a fresh dye job, this is the right stuff. This VR Purple Shampoo and Conditioner Duo is all you’re gonna need and an excellent deal for the price. First, you get 32-ounces of each the shampoo and conditioner for the low price of $36.99. That’s 64 ounces in total!! I’ve bought 18 ounce bottles of color correcting shampoo for that price, and they didn’t come with conditioner. Second, the color of both the shampoo and conditioner is a dark purple, meaning they put the proper amount of the color correcting element in there. I’ve seen other commercial formulas that were much lighter purple and cost even more money. So the proof is in the pudding as they say. I try all of the things I review on these pages, and this arrived right before my annual holiday hair dye party where I try to fool my relatives into thinking I’m waaaaay younger than I am, even though they’ve all known me my entire life and know exactly how old I am right down to the time and day of the week I was born. I don’t even know what time I was born. Anyway, I came up with a sort of rust colored concoction for this year’s lie, and boy, did that post dye brass finish need some taming. I was getting dizzy from the glare. Three or four days of using this VR Purple shampoo and conditioner toners and my entire brass section disappeared from the bandstand. In other words, it worked brilliantly, and now I’m a nice quiet shade of Auburn. The only down side here is that the scent of both products could use some attention. It’s neither bad or good, but just sort of industrial, but that’s easily obscured with a squirt of cologne or hairspray, or even Febreze (just kidding). The VR Purple Duo is a fine set of hair are products at a great price. It will last for a long time too. You should be pleased with it.

Wife uses it. The shampoo is a deep purple that stains the shower once rinsed. Not permanently though. The stuff if much darker than other types. Does good on maintaining hair color and the conditioner works quite well too.Overall for the price it beats all the other purple shampoos on Amazon imo.

I’m letting my natural color grow out after 60 yrs of having it dyed and a blonde weave. My hair is thick, but I have noticed it’s starting to thin out abit!I have been trying other purple shampoos and conditioner to make my Natural white hair more silver.This VR has been the one that finally actually works for me to get the right color of more silver, and toning down my old lady white hair that growing in. Yippsssss.My other concern is some shampoos make my head Itch and burn, does not matter if it’s regular shampoo, or purple.So far this shampoo and conditioner have NOT cause me a itchy problem.This says, no sulfate , and it’s living up to it, where others have not, and price does not matter.After shampooing and conditioning with this VR my hair is feeling soft , but still has body.Also , since my hair has been growing out I have the Awful looking Pink Scalp! Yipssss.Using this my scalp is NOT pink. I’m thrilled.Although I do not think I will need to use this to shampoo everyday with!The only Con I have is, the pumps do Not pop open, and it’s messing using this shampoo. NotSo much the conditioner as it’s thicker.The color of the shampoo is a deep purple, but my hair has never turned out purple.Btw so far my natural hair only shows about two inches right now. This has also toned down my dyed lighter color hair.Hope I will continue letting my hair grow out to my natural color ,this is hard to do, and ugly to do!!If I get a itchy scalp, or other problems I will up-date.5 stars.

This product is very similar to the name brand purple shampoo and conditioner that I had been using. The shampoo seems like it is a clarifying shampoo and leaves my hair feeling a little rough, after I use the conditioner it is soft and moisturized. The directions are to leave the shampoo and condition on 3-5 minutes each. When I was using this I felt there was no scent to this product, no perfumes or unpleasant scent. It smelled like nothing at all. After I read reviews stating that it smelled of peppermint I went back and smelled it while in the bottle and I guess it does small vaguely of peppermint.The results are the same as the others, soft hair, but can't tell if either is doing anything. For reference, I had natural red hair, and the front is quite white, while the back still has red (dye) coloring at the ends, the new hair growth is dark, not red like when I was young. The white part of my hair is not brassy at all, nor is the new growth, and I have been using purple shampoo about once or twice a week. So I can't say if it's the shampoo or not, but my hair does feel moisturized with this shampoo.Very purple coloring, does not stain the shower or shower curtain.
