I purchased this dash cam in July 2026 and so far the unit is working fine. I highly recommend watching some of the YouTube videos for installing this or similar units so you can see and better think through how you want the cameras mounted and where to run the cables. After watching a few YouTube videos, my installation went smooth. I installed the dash dam in my 2021 Ford Explorer. Running the cables was a little tedious but fairly easy. The only challenge I had with the Ford Explorer was that the power cable for the front facing camera was not long enough to reach the USB port inside the armrest storage which we never use. I didn't want to plug it in the USB port by the dashboard which is the one we use the most and I also wanted to minimize cable clutter. I got an USB extension cable from Amazon and that did trick. The video quality is very good. I wanted to try this unit first for a few months before getting another one for my Honda Accord. I will order another one.

I’m very happy with this dash cam. The 4K front camera and 1080P rear camera provide clear video, and the image quality is much better than I expected. I also really like the 4G remote access and AI motion detection features. Being able to check the car remotely is very convenient and gives me extra peace of mind. First impressions: It comes in a sturdy, well-designed box. Inside, there is a pouch containing a 128GB microSD card (a fantastic bonus given current memory prices), along with window film and a manual. Beneath that layer, you will find the main camera unit, the rear camera, power and connecting cables, a car adapter, and a plastic trim tool. The built quality of the dashcam feels premium. Seems like it’s built to last, there are a lot of vent holes to help keep the unit cool as it runs throughout the season. It attaches to a mount that sticks to your windshield and you slide the dashcam up to get it off the mount. Great if you want to move it between different cars (just make sure you have an extra set of wire and mount). The front footage is very impressive as it uses the IMX678 STARVIS 2 sensor. Environments and surroundings are clear, colors are vivid and most importantly, cars and license plates are easier to read compared to your 2k and 1080p dashcams. Whether it's moving or standing still the resolution helps read it. Especially with HDR which helps with various exposures making direct sunlight or headlights on license plates easier to read. HDR is always. There is a screen on the main body so you can free in real time what the dashcams are seeing, though it’s running at a much lower FPS compared to what the actual footage is shot at (30 FPS). I know how there is a button that switches what camera you want to see and has options to overlay the two channels. You can access the settings via a button too which makes things easier than needing to turn on the WIFI/hotspot just to change settings. The rear footage is also a STARVIS 2 sensor (IMX662) but the resolution is only 1080p. Even though it’s only 1080p, it still provides a clear image of what’s going on in the back. License plates can be read if cars are on your tail. Otherwise they are a bit blurry to see when moving. Just like the front HDR is always on. I would say the footage is very similar to the 70mai Lite. The app is very easy to use. You do need to sign up for an account in order to use it so just a heads up. Everything you can do manually on the screen can be done via the app except syncing the time. The live view is very useful when it comes to mounting the rear camera so you don’t need to turn your head to see if the view is good. And of course you can view the footage via the app. Overall this dashcam package/bundle is a great value as you get dual STARVIS 2 sensor cameras and a 128 GB SD card in the box. The user interface and usability of this product is A+. If you are looking for a dashcam and want to spend less than $150 dollars I would get this (Please make sure you are getting this when it’s under that price, the price tends to go up and down). If you are looking to spend more, there are other brands/models you should consider. I've also included pictures comparing the VIOFO A229 Pro and 70mai A810S in this review.

I have tested a few dash-cams before settling with the 70mai 810 4K. This is a well built camera all around. It gets mounted very easily if you choose to use the cigarette lighter adapter and only use the front camera. If you choose to hardwire and add the rear camera it takes a little more effort but not very difficult to get it done by yourself. It took me less than hour running cables trough headliners and under the panels. the quality of the front camera is very good both day time and night time. The 4K resolution gets the frame rate reduced to the 25 fps but it does not make any significant impact. The rear camera though is not as good as you would expect since it supports HD resolution only. I wish it was supporting 1440p resolution on the rear camera. This camera has a nice ADAS features which probably taxing the processing power hence the reduced frame rate in 4K and low resolution in the rear cam. If your car does not have a ADAS features, it is nice to have such a feature but it may get annoying since the lack of native integration to your vehicle. for example, it will keep throwing lane departure warning even when you change lance intentionally because the camera does not know your blinker is on. the other weird thing with the ADAS is the warning messages does not make sense. only lane departure warning make sense. when the forward collision detection kicks in the voice warning announce it like "front threat car" which does not make any sense. It seems to poor translation from Chinese to English. I turned it off since my car has quite well ADAS system but for an older vehicle it may be useful to use. the app is very nice and unlike the other cameras the app is capable of doing firmware upgrades over wifi without any manual steps with an SD card which is a great convenience. other unique feature of the App is providing recorded videos in a timeline and marks the events with color codes. If you have a ring doorbell or camera you would know what I mean. This is the hands down best app to find and see recorded events, very intuitive. over all I really like the camera and how it performs so far. But there are a few things that needs improvement to my openion. - allow 30fps recording when the ADAS is turned off - improve the rear camera to support 1440p (quad HD) resolution - use standard interfaces all around. the rear camera connector is proprietary instead of usb-c as most of the vendor chose to use. - use standard signaling for the parking mode. the parking mode should be operating when it is used with a 3rd party or an existing hardwiring kit. just an important heads up if you are planning to hardwire or contemplating to keep using an existing hardwire kit with any 70mai cameras. the parking mode will not if it is not a 70mai hardwire kit which makes it difficult for many users. either you have to rerun a new hardwire kit for the parking mode and you need to fine without parking mode. in my case, I chose not to use the parking mode to be able to keep using the existing hardwire kit on my car. simply I didn't want to waste another hour to replace perfectly working kit with an exact same one just because 70mai chose signaling parking mode differently on their cameras. This is something you need to keep in mind

When my wife asked for a dashcam for her car for her birthday I began researching them. After watching numerous videos on YouTube I quickly decided that I did not want a 'cheap' dashcam as the quality of the videos were basically useless in the event of an accident. However at the same time I did not want to break the bank either as now I decided to get one for my truck as well. So I decided that it needed to be priced under $150 for each and I needed to be able to install it myself. The 70mai A810 seemed to be the clear winner. The video quality appeared to be great, the reviews were very good and the cost, including the harness, came in just under my price max range. The units arrived quickly, were packaged very well and without damage. Again I began watching YouTube videos on how to install the units. In my mind it broke down into 3 parts; 1. Decide on placement of the cameras before beginning (this unit had front and rear cameras). I needed to decide on the path for the wires as to not interfere with airbags...VERY IMPORTANT! 2. Electrical; 3 connections are needed... 1 connection for continuous 12v power (required for Parking Mode), 1 connection for ACC 12v power (applies power when ignition key is turn to accessory or engine started and 1 connection to ground 3. Hiding all of the wiring The install in my GMC Sierra Extended Cab was straight forward and I ran into no real issues. I did spend an extra day coming up with how to mount the rear camera in the middle of the slider window and still be able to open and close the window. All of the wires were easily hidden and the install looked professional. My wife's Buick Envision was another story. I decided on the front and rear camera placements and had it approved by the wife (VERY IMPORTANT!). The electrical gave me some problems though. There were no extra fuses not in use that I could use. Also the fuse box was so small that I was unable to use fuse taps because there was not enough room to install them. So I ended up taking the car to an installer and had them run both 12v lines for me. After that the install went smooth and quickly. My wife was very happy with how the install turned out and gave me a thumbs up for approval. My wife and I are very happy with our dashcam choice. Video quality is great and the install looks professional. I installed the app running on each of our phones with no issues. We recommend the 70mai A810 dashcam

This is my 4th one bought for putting these into other family members cars, if that tells you how much I recommend this. The Sony Starvis 2 IMX678 image sensor is about the best you can get in a dash cam right now today. Image clarity and sharpness at 4K is very good. Dynamic range, like when driving under an overpass, or into a dark parking structure on a sunny day, or the reverse, coming out of darkness and into sunlight from a tunnel, etc, is very good. No "black hole" until the camera is completely into the shaded or dark area, and no "whiteout" when coming out of a tunnel into daylight, the image is visible at vastly different light levels all the time. It also does not wash out license plates ahead of you when your headlights hit the reflective plate. Rear camera is 1080p, and is OK to use in the same conditions, just not nearly as sharp with the reduced resolution, and only slightly worse on dynamic range, but still able to function in differing light levels. Adding a circularly polarized filter (which 70mai also makes, and may or may not be included in some purchase bundles) to the dash cam does help a little bit on reducing the reflection inside the windshield of your dashboard on sunny days, and does just a tiny bit towards glare of oncoming headlights, or reflective strips around construction barrels and signage that reflect back your own headlights at night. I'd definitely recommend using one for the front camera, and consider one for the rear as well, since they are not very expensive, and do help a little. This one supports up to a 256 GB SD card, so buy the fastest speed and most reliable one you can, since it needs to write at a fairly fast rate with both 4K and the rear 1080 camera recording simultaneously. I bought a Lexar E-series 256G and it's never had issues writing video files to it. If you use 256 GB for the front camera only, using 4K at 30 fps, it's working out to around 16-18 hours of recording time before older video starts getting overwritten. You can hit a button on the unit to flag a recording as something important that it will not overwrite until you manually delete it, and it moves it to a different folder, so you never need to worry about losing video of an incident you caught on camera. Adding the rear camera at 1080 brings the frame rate on both front and back down to 25 fps, which is still fine for viewing, and the total recording time comes down to maybe 10-12 hours. Normal driving for just a few hours per day will leave you with multiple days of recorded video, if not maybe a whole week before overwriting older recordings. Recordings by default are 1 minute each, so as it runs out of space, an older 1 minute video is deleted to make sure it has space for current data. You can change that to 2 or 3 minutes, but then if you use the app to download video to your phone, it takes longer, and uses up more space on your phone, so I left it at the default. Worst case I might need to d/l multiple 1 minute video clips for a long running incident, but that's not too bad. The unit itself is fairly small, and the default brightness was not enough to be distracting at night. You can change brightness, or set the screen to go dark if find it distracting yourself. With all the other stuff my vehicle already put in the middle of the windshield for it's lane centering, headlight sensing, and wiper rain sensing, I didn't have enough room on the driver's side to mount it without it blocking a bit of my view of what could have potentially been a car or pedestrian off to the side at an intersection. A bit of holding it up and checking before you decide where to mount it is obviously important. So I mounted it to the glass behind, and on the passenger side of the rear view mirror. No additional blockage of any windshield view for me in that position, and I can just duck my head down a bit to see the screen to check that it's on, or to see where the button is to mark a recording to not be auto-deleted. I prefer it mounted where there's zero loss of any field of view when driving like that. You can disable audio recording on it's built-in microphone, and you can also disable having it show your vehicle speed, and/or location (latitude and longitude from it's GPS chip) along the bottom of the video. I chose to disable all of those, so the only thing shown on the video screen is the date and time of the recording. The power cable was long enough to tuck it around the edges of the windshield, and route it down around the dash and into my console to get power. The rear video cable length would have been fine if I had been able to stay above the headliner all the way around the car to the rear, but my side-curtain and door post airbags left no room at all to tuck cables behind, and were tight to to the metal (no gaps). I wound up running it around the windshield and down to the floor, pulling up the sill plates to run the cable in the raceway under them, and under the carpet, to reach the back seat. From there, back up again beside the rear seat, to the deck area. That left me about 3 feet short from the extra cable distance, but I was able to find 3rd party cables on Amazon that exactly fit the pinout of this rear camera, and in varying lengths of 3, 6, and 10 feet. I ordered a 3 and 6 foot just in case, and the 3 foot worked out. If you want to finish this install in one shot, check your mounting locations, and all access to be able to tuck cables behind moldings and weather stripping, etc, for how you'll reach both power in the front, as well as the rear video cable, and consider ordering any extra extension cables before hand just in case.

I purchased this dashcam to replace an aging dashcam that was having issues. I have to say this was a huge step up in multiple ways! To start the picture quality is gorgeous. Every detail is crisp and easy to read. Keep this mind as you purchase a SD card since the files it makes are large I would recommend going with the highest it supports which at the time I saw 128gb, but apparently it does 256gb now. It looks fantastic both day and night, the quality doesn’t go away at night. For installation it uses a static cling sticker both on the front and back and then an adhesive to the sticker for the camera mounts. I love this as there is no permanent marking of your windshields! I have not tried moving it to another car but I would imagine since it is static cling you could reuse it or buy a new sticker. I also really appreciate the front camera being able to slide on and off the mount so I can take it down when it’s hot out to put up my sun shades. Installation overall is easy if you follow the instructions and there is plenty of wiring to run from the front camera to the rear camera. Connectivity is mostly straight forward but a little finicky if you have CarPlay. That is not a fault of the dashcam but more how CarPlay tries to always be connected. You will connect to WiFi and Bluetooth to talk to the camera so you can update the firmware and pull video from it, but one of the nice things about the camera is you can still playback video on the camera itself if you have to which was one of the deciding factors for me. I don’t have to pay for a subscription to get my dashcam videos or have to deal with connection issues at the scene of an accident, I can just show law enforcement from the camera on the spot. The camera also features ADAS capabilities which works well but I don’t use it since it isn’t connected to your car it will warn you of lane departure when you’re using your turn signal because it doesn’t know you’re planning on turning. But it does let you know if you get too close to something or if you’re at a light when the person in front of you is going if you’re staring into space, so that’s nice. The camera is a little sensitive for emergency videos if you hit a pothole a little hard but I prefer it to be overly sensitive than not enough. Overall fantastic camera at a great price! Buy with confidence.

Best quality camera i had purched so far. Picture quality is excellent with the second gen Sony sensor. Can clearly distinguish licence plates as well for legal purposes. I had purchased this camera 3 times in all 3 of my cars after the main competitor of the 70mai failed on me within 11 months which i had to pay the shipping to get a new camera replaced under warranty and then the replacement failed me again after another 8 months. All 3 of my 7omai cameras have been working flawlesly. The app is smooth and autoupdates. I recomended the same camera to my brother as well and he has purchased one as well for his vehicle and is very happy. Definitely recomend this product as it has a better imaging chip than professionaly installed system at 3 times the cost!
