I cleaned the wall first as it was dusty and used pencil marking to get it straight and in place before sticking it to the wall. Rub down hard to remove any air that gets trapped, otherwise it will peal off when you remove the backing paper, I used a loyalty card to smooth it down. Carefully pull the backing paper off watch each letter as you get to it and push it back sown if it comes loose, this was put on a plaster board wall and this only happened once, brick walls differ. Great item.
