These Oil Pastels Are Wonderful for Making Marks in My Artwork
These were recommended to me by another artist. I have used other brands before and one in particular for a long time and thought that I was pleased with that brand until I used the Sakura brand. I was blown away as to how well they worked. I used them for a mixed media painting. They did not break like my other oil pastels. They gave smoother strokes that gave my artwork the emphasis that was needed. When I applied a thin coat of paint on top of the Sakura oil pastels, the result was amazing. Whereas the other brand faded away. I cannot emphasize how happy I am with the Sakura oil pastels. I will be buying Sakura's other colors now and making Sakura a permanent part of my stock of art supplies. The quality is excellent. I would highly recommend.

Not the greasiest, but densely pigmented & smooth to work with
Color selection is super. Sakura is def a favorite brand for art supplies. This is my first real foray into oil pastels, which I figured would be messy to work with. I got some fixative but haven’t even felt the need to use it cos these pastels aren’t terribly smudgy. They blend easily if you intend to do so however. Quite user friendly & densely pigmented- what more could u ask for?
