My Escape from Cold, Landlocked Winters
Fatty Goodlander and other contributors to cruising world set it apart from the other sailing publications. This magazine targets, at least in part, those of us who sail on small or rented sailboats and those who live aboard and explore. These are "cruisers." This is a very different group from the high-end, yacht club, regatta cup crowd. If you love boats but yours floats on water rather than money, there is some fun to be had with cruising world. That said, Cruising World still pushes the industry. Some covers still depict Biff and Buffy having a maah-velous time on their 70 foot wooden classic just offshore from their Long Island palace. The best sections, for me, are always Mr. Goodlander and the classic plastic boat reviews. I could care less that the latest $8,000 touch-screen navi computer now has a solar-powered back-scratcher and a cocktail mixer that links to my smartphone.

great magazine and services
hello, print magazines are probably on their way out. the ezine versions are faster and quicker to read...but, when a copy of the print version arrives in the mailbox, there is something that just says...here you go...read me, now. cruising world has articles on boats and travel spots. just what a wandering eye appreciates. the photos are outstanding and they take you right to the place in the article. having been in sailing for quite sometime and having subscribed to most of these magazines, cruising world is right up there with the top magazines covering sailing. it is a pleasure to read this magazine and when its time is up, will be sad to see it go like all of the other print versions... yrmv great magazine and subscription services by amazon.

Great replacement for defunct Lattitudes & Attitudes...
I used to read and was a regular subscriber to the now defunct Lattitudes and Attitudes magazine. When the owners of L&A made a bad business decision that cost them the loss of L&A, I had to find another boating magazine. This is an outstanding replacement for L&A. In fact, this is a much better magazine than L&A. I wish I had found this one sooner. I would never have subscribed to L&A and lose my money with them due to their stupid way of doing, or should I say not doing business. This is a professional looking and professionally put together magazine. If you enjoy boating or dreaming of boating, this is a great magazine. Soundings is another great boating magazine. I highly recommend both, but if you had to pick just one, I would pick Cruising World.

I would definitely recommend to anyone who sails currently
Amazingly high quality magazine. Almost every article in every issue is worth a read. Also, while most magazines are shrinking, every issue of Cruising World is an impressive volume of information. I would definitely recommend to anyone who sails currently, used to sail and misses it or has dreams of sailing in the future.

Loving it again!
Happy Here ! I used to have a subscription some years ago, but let it lapse. I enjoyed the Magazine then, so I renewed and have since received 2 issues. Great Magazine even if (like me) you are not an experienced (even just a decent deckhand like me) sailor.

A pictoral catalog of far away exotic places supporting my fantasy of sailing off into the sunset. The reports from Capt N Fatty and his crew the lovely Caroline as they circle the globe discovering new places and freinds around the world. A sailors view point without techinal information just good advise for all us want to bes.
