When you fold the saw open. The clip won't hold the wooden handle together when open. The clip is too tight when open and when you fold it over to hold the handle together. It will not. I had to use a Dremel to modify metal on handle for the clip to fold and hold both handles together.

this one is really handy and cuts very well. i would definitely recommend this for tree management, finishing circular saw cuts, and for quickly cutting through small things.

Small screws that attached wood handle to saw blade were not screwed all the way in. Handel would not lock in open position. Good idea, poor assembly. Returned.

There are things I like about this saw. First of all, I liked that it folds up so that you can protect the blade and then it does have a little case that also protects it. The saw is also sharp, and it cuts quite well. However, it is a pretty big issue that it will not lock in the open position. There is a little slip latch that should fit over the end, and it doesn’t. So, you have to hold it tightly together to keep it from slipping. It’s not really a safety issue but it’s also not how it should be.

This Macario Hand Saw is a handy device to have around when you need to cut a small limb or for other small jobs. I live in a motorhome, and I have kept a small pruning saw on hand for years. I rarely use it, but it has come in handy a few times. It is fairly large however, and this foldable saw can do the same things without taking up so much space. This saw folds to about six inches long and has a nice case that it fits in. In addition to its small size, another advantage to this saw over the larger saw I have carried is that when this one is folded, the sharp blades are not exposed, while the other saw's blades are and can easily get snagged on things. While this saw has the advantages of being small and foldable, it is not a saw I would use on a regular basis. When it is opened out, the two halves of the handle latch together, and the saw is reasonably solid feeling. However, the saw is made of relatively thin steel and does not look like it would stand up to heavy regular use. A tool like this is something you would use every once in a while when there is a small job that needs done; as long as that is how this is used, it should hold up well. I give it five stars based on that.
