Not bad, but....
This laptop was speedy out of the box and looked the business. But I've never had a laptop that updates its BIOS so much. There have been 4 or 5 updates in the past 10 months, it's very odd. It also developed a bug where, if you had been using the laptop plugged in and then shut it down, if you pulled the power out or switched off the power supply before it fully shut down, it would never power off. This would cause it to overheat and result in a blue screen. It took me ages to figure out what was happening and frustrated me massively. 12 months on, it's still good and just as fast as ever. Without its software problems, it'd be a 4 or 5-star laptop.

Lots of problems
Do not buy this laptop, do not buy from Dell.I didn't buy this through Amazon but directly from Dell. You'd think that would make for a smooth service. Read on.......The main issue I had was that the screen on the provided laptop exhibited a lot of motion blur/smearing/lag when moving windows on the screen, scrolling documents, playing games and basically any images that weren't static. I bought the laptop to do 3D modelling on and the blur while rotating models was distracting to the point that I couldn't use the laptop for the purpose I purchased it. Further to that the laptop had very poor Wi-Fi performance with a poor to non-existent connection outside the room containing the router and seemed to have over heating issues with the main CPU running at 100c which is its upper operating limit. After spending several hours talking to support, who got me to do many tests and a full factory reset on the computer, it was decided an engineer should visit to fix the problem. The first day the engineer was to arrive he didn't turn up (and I had taken a whole day off work). The arranged date he turned up but with a part very unlikely to solve the problem (a motherboard rather than a display). The engineer agreed with my appraisal of the issue but was made to change the motherboard anyway. This did not resolve the issue. After having to chase Dell about the issue it was decided that they would 'Fix it in the depot where said they had all the parts'. I have since been waiting for a month as parts were unavailable. I have been denied a usable laptop for approximately 4 months. I have tried to get a refund from Dell, but they just keep saying they'll 'escalate it' and giving me notional 24/48 hour response time where nothing is resolved. They are actively trying to avoid giving me a refund despite having given them more than enough time to resolve the issue. As an IT professional who spent many years recommending Dell to my corporate clients you can imagine that I won't be doing that any more.As it stands, despite a phone call yesterday that promised 24 hourly updates regarding my refund, I have heard nothing today.
