Can pellets be used in it?

I don't think that pellets would work as they don't ignite and stay lit like wood chips. The air around the chips keeps them lit (fluffier so to speak) and the pellets ar tighter together. BUT I have never tried pellets....

Is 10.1 x 7.4 x 3.5 inches true? That would be way too big for my Weber kettle. Thanks.

It's interesting that this question comes at me when I am using the smoker box as we speak. You can easily ditch the 'stand' that comes with the unit and rest the box right on the grill surface. I use some wood chips as a starter and fill the box with either wood chunks or wood pellets, and fire it up with a butane cooking torch/lighter....And of course it depends on what size Weber kettle that you have,as it most likely won't fit a 'Smokey Joe'. I love this unit and highly recommend it.

Can you use this in a electric smoker to cold smoke with?

Wow: Huhhh??? If you can get it ignited and keep the temperature down less than 100 degrees you might stand a chance. It's really meant to run at higher temperature. I would light one or two charcoal briskets then cover them completely with wood chips and give it a try. PS. It's a lot smaller than you think it is by the way.
