No the mohs test is for rocks. For carbon steel you would use a Rockwell tester.

Can you get replacement points for the stylus?

Yes, providing you already own the Test Kit. But before you would replace the Hardness Points, you can just re-sharpen them many times before those points would become too short to no longer use. Refer to the Instructions inside the case for guidance on re-sharpening.
