a collection of poems categorised
A COLLECTION OF POEMS CATEGORISED. This collection of poetry has been grouped by themes - (1) family, (2) society & people, (3) love, (4) self image and (5) being alive - and uses the poems to express different aspects of each. The tone of the poems is generally heavy, sad and negative which made it hard going for me to read. Whilst there is always scope for all forms of art to explore the dark side of life, there is also scope to explore the light. The things that make us grow, fill us with wonder, and put a spring in our step are just as real as the things that hurt us. The poems in this collection express a sense of awareness of the light, but don't seem to explore it. As a reader, I found that disappointing because this author has the sensitivity to perceive the human experience, and the talent to express herself.

A number of the passages struck a chord with me
This is book of poems that are arranged in categories of Family, Society and People, Love, Self-Image and Being Alive. The poems are generally heavy/negative in tone, and some people might simply dismiss them as teenage angst. But when reading them a number of the passages struck a chord with me, such as: “And the cycle of these little crappy things continues. It's the trash left on the streets and tables, Like they don't see the bin nearby…”, as well as many of the comments in relation to how people treat each other and the way society seems to be going. It’s not very optimistic or cheerful, but some of the observations are accurate. The book comes across as an honest expression of what an individual is feeling/experiencing while entering into adulthood, and it may be beneficial to others in that situation.

Excellent
The media could not be loaded. Sharp observations about life, society and people and heartfelt and emotional poems all through the lens of personal experience. The writing here is also accessible, unlike a lot of poetry.
