This Is Everything I Want In An EDC Pocket Knife
I bought the Damascus version of this knife. I was worried about the blade quality. When I know what specific steel a knife is made in, it pretty much tells me what to expect with regards to blade performance. That is, except Damascus. This is so because there is no transparency as to the steels that make up the Damascus and there are no industry standards as far as heat treatment for it. However, once I got it, I was well satisfied with the blade performance. I cut lots of multiple materials putting the knife through its paces. It is sharp enough to cut paper like a razor blade. It cuts through corrugated cardboard almost effortlessly. And my veggies are diced in a flash! After a while, I noticed the performance degrading a little, but not seriously. A quick stropping with green compound restored it to factory condition. After that, I went for extra sharpness. I polished the edge on a 5000 grit stone and then stropped with a piece of leather treated with 10,000 grit diamond paste. After that, I was able to shave without any razor burn. I don't recommend this to anyone, but I am now confident that the blade takes an extra sharp edge and holds the edge reasonably well. As to the rest of the knife, it is typical for Civivi. That is, the build quality, the fit and finish, and the quality of the materials used are first rate for a knife that costs (slightly) less than $100. The locking mechanism is a new one for me, and it took a little getting used to, but it works really well. It can takes a little too much pressure to operate the lock for my index finger, but it is more than manageable with my thumb. Also, it works well left and right handed. This knife is really fun to fidget with now that I have experienced the new to me lock design. The pivot and lock are such that it is possible to close it without the blade bouncing a little when it hits the bottom. Many knives are not like that; for these I just have to live with the annoying sound of blade hitting the bottom and bouncing. The appearance of the knife is even better than I expected from the pictures. I just love the off-white G10 scales against the mostly black appearance of the blade. Also, the Damascus pattern of the blade is just beautiful. The only beef I have with this knife is the "Designed By Snex" branding on the blade. Fortunately, in Damascus, the writing is mostly camouflaged. Also, I feel this knife could improve a tiny bit by putting jimping on the top back side of the blade. The top of the lock is jimped, but that is too far back. My thumb wants to rest on the top of the blade, not on top of the lock actuator because I have large hands. These are super minor issues for me. While this knife was a little pricey for me, I feel I got a great value. This knife is more than good enough for EDC. That being said, I would have some concerns about using this knife in a survival role. Perhaps my opinion could change after some hard use of this knife. For the time being, this knife is just too pretty for hard use. In short, I absolutely love this knife.

Efficient, Useful, Fun, and Economical
It is a fine blade for a very reasonable price. The blade is quite sharp, and it is angled well for use in the kitchen. I carry it comfortably in my pocket, and so it is my always-on-hand blade of choice. The opening technique brings back a bit of the fun of butterfly knives, and the locking mechanism is quite strong. The knife feels very stable in my grip. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

THIS KNIFE IS INCREDIBLE!!!
This knife is amazing. I feel like I got a CRAZY amount of knife for my money. The build quality blew me away. The locking mechanism is unique and super easy to use. The knife is razor sharp out of the box. Very sliced. Very ergonomic and grippy for someone like me that has very large hands. I love it and would recommend it to anyone. The second picture is a size comparison between it and my Vosteed Porcupine.

Wonderfully unique
It’s as good as you’ve heard. Extremely smooth action. It came very sharp but I sharpened it even more and that worked out well. Note the detent is not very strong, so you can easily fling it open without touching the lock or thumb stud just by whipping your wrist. This isn’t an issue for me, just FYI. I chose the Black Ultem color as I felt it complements the design nicely. It is true that you’ll be able to see moisture under the handles, but if you are comfortable disassembling the knife, you can easily remove the scales and dry that off to make it pristine again. This knife is very simple to disassemble, the only thing to be careful of is the small spring in the lock. The spring is under tension, and it can fly out once the lock is outside of the handles. So, I just wrap it in a piece of masking tape to hold it in.

Super cool EDC!!
This knife is really unique in the color, blade shape and flipper functionality! I like everything about it and it seems it was made well for EDC. I actually dropped it after 5 hours of owning it, and it landed directly on the tip from 3-4 feet on hardwood. I bent the tip a little, but it's still super sharp and fixable with some TLC. And when I say bent... it's very minor. You would have to be looking for it. I'm actually glad that it's a little flexible to bend a tad and not totally snap from a hard fall... Exactly what I wanted in an EDC . It did break my heart a little though because this knife has memorizing beauty! It is razor sharp out of the box. The blade is very large, thin and sharp. The lock mechanism functionality is really cool too...

Don’t be surprised…this knife is a bit of a chunk…
Love the lock. Super secure and has a great “fidget factor.” The micarta handles are smooth - definitely won’t destroy your pockets. This knife is heavy due to the steel liners under the handle. If you’re looking for a lighter EDC, this isn’t the way to go. It’s a larger, heavier knife. Great action. Blade makes a satisfying “snikt” on deployment. The pocket clip sucks. CIVIVI knows this, but they continue to put that ridiculous bill on the pocket clip.
