Best lather I've ever gotten from a brush. Excellent face lathering brush.
I've been shaving with a safety razor and brush for almost 10 years now and have owned five brushes before this one--four Semogue boar brushes and one Fine Accoutrements synthetic. This brush cost about the same as each of those but is hands-down the best of the lot.The Fine synthetic was my first synthetic and I quickly learned that synthetic brushes can whip up lather every bit as good as boar brushes, while being easier to maintain (no funky smell after a while) and not requiring an animal to be sacrificed just so I can put soap on my face. The only problem I had with the Fine synthetic was that the bristles are a bit long for my taste and I'd have to pinch the bottom of them to get the splay that I like while face lathering, so I started looking for smaller brushes. Decided to see what Simpsons had in stock since they're so famous for high quality but expensive brushes and was pleasantly surprised to find that they offer this line of synthetic brushes for a significantly lower price than their mainstream line.I was tempted to try the T3 since it is available with a black handle which matches my bathroom, but its bristle length is as long or longer than the Fine brush so I wasn't sure whether it would resolve the splaying issue. Taking no chances, I snagged the tiny T1 and am really glad I did. This brush develops high quality lather better and more quickly than any other brush I have ever used. If they ever release a version with a black handle I will snag that one too and use this as my travel brush. I think it would be very hard to find a competitive brush at this, or perhaps any, price.

Outstanding
The T1 from Simpson is the best brush I have used. There is zero break in of the bristles with a synthetic brush. Bristles are very soft to the touch but also have the perfect amount of backbone. No soaking of the brush before a shave. Literally wet it and start lathering. This brush creates wonderful lather. I’ve used other synthetics and the bristles fell out on the second use. Not with the Simpson. This is truly an outstanding brush. The knot size of the T1 is perfect for me as I have a beard. I don’t need the larger knot sizes.

Very nice shaving brush and animal friendly!
After years of shaving only with electric shavers, I recently went back to shaving with a traditional razor (cartridge, but still old school). Honestly, the electric razors are so good now, they shave closer and without nicks and cuts for me. However, there is something very satisfying about shaving with a real razor and shaving cream. I decided to use traditional shaving cream as well (Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood - great stuff!), so I wanted a shaving brush to maximize the enjoyment of shaving old school. This is a really great brush. It is synthetic, but very soft and really produced a great lather and a better shave on the first use. Very good quality as well. I purchased the smallest size, because I figured it would be the easiest to maneuver in the mustache area, etc. Compared to the better badger brushes, it is anywhere from 50 to 80+% cheaper, and it really works great for me. Very please with my decision.

Quality brush, feels nice on the face, produces nice lather.
This is my first shaving brush. First impressions, it feels nice on the face and lathers well. No shedding or anything negative to report. Good size for the hand and covers well when in use. Very good choice for the money in my opinion.

Great brush until you drop it!
I received this brush September 21 and was very happy this it. very good hair retention, soft and easy to use. then in January, dropped it by mistake and the handle smashed. see pic. the brush still works, but i'm surprised that Simpson wouldn't make their handles out of more durable material. rather disappointed.

Not as soft as my old brush. Also, is this a real Simpson brush?
I know synthetic isn't as soft as badger, but I didn't think it's not as soft as I thought it'd be. Also, can't help but wonder if these are knock offs (see pic of my old packaging with the Simpson logo and paper insert vs. new package without either)...

Amazing value brush
This is not my first Simpson brush, but it is my first Simpson made from synthetic fibers. It is super soft and does a great job building lather. Much better than other synthetic brushes I've tried.I've tried a lot of different brushes over the last decade, and I've settled on Simpson brushes as my favorites. I find that the feel of their knots combined with the quality of their handles make for the best overall lathering experience. This brush nails the handle with the same quality feel that you get holding any Simpson brush. The synthetic fiber knot is better than any other synthetic brush I've tried. It doesn't quite match the feel and lathering capabilities of one of their similarly sized best badger knots, but is close and it also costs significantly less.I wish these brushes had been around when I started wet shaving about 8 years ago. I could have saved a lot of money. Pair this brush with a Feather Popular and you have an amazing budget shaving combo that will last forever.

Fantastic brush
I've been using badger hair for over 5 years. The synthetic brush initially felt different when whipping up the lather and applying it. But I've started liking the synthetic more than badger. The brush does not dry out like the way a badger hair does. It consumes less soap than a badger. Overall, I'm loving it.
