DeWalt DXAELJ16 1600 Peak Amp Jump Starter Battery Booster with USB Power Station

I previously reviewed this harshly, as it failed to start the car at all. A week later it turns out the battery was actually dead like fully dead. It was pretty old so I probably should have investigated this first. Since I do not like leaving a review in error, especially if its entirely my error, I drained the new battery on purpose, and started it with this DeWalt booster/jumper, and it actually works really well, with no wierd "plug in, wait 15 seconds, then start within 30 seconds or you have to restart the whole process" procedure, and the capacity to start the car several times before requiring a charge. Also it is perhaps of note, as I found while investigating the battery/jump pack relationship this past week, that my car is a V8, which are apprently harder to jump in this manner. With that in mind, the performance of this box is FAR better than the cheap ones. The best one of those I have had lasted 2 winters, still had the wierd procedure requirement, and would only start the car twice on a full charge.

Best purchase ever made . Car would not start so I pulled out this Dewalt starter. Easy three sets when charging 👌. Anyone that drives a vehicle should have this charger as a backup. Battery is durable and a must needed item.

I expected better from DeWalt, but this 1600 amp charging pack is an absolute joke. I paid over $100 thinking I was getting a quality, reliable jump starter from a trusted brand — big mistake. It stopped working in less than two months, and when I tried to use the warranty, I quickly learned how terrible their support really is. They only allow one repair service, which took almost a month to process, and guess what? It died again barely a month after I got it back. Zero lights on using their provided cable. Worthless. For something priced this high, the reliability and customer service are pathetic. My $20 no-name brand has been working longer and more consistently than this overpriced piece of junk. DeWalt should be embarrassed to put their name on such unreliable garbage. Do yourself a favor and avoid this product entirely. Save your money and buy literally anything else. Zero stars — not worth the frustration or the cost. Avoid this item.

Very lightweight and jump started 4 times and only dropped 1 bar works great. Bought the case that fits it as well, small enough to store anywhere in your vehicle for peace of mind always knowing you have a backup if you battery dies or just have it to help someone else out with a dead battery.

Ever need a jump start and find yourself unable to find anyone to help. With the cold temperatures this year I was having trouble starting our old car. It was parked and frozen in place pretty much, in an awkward way that I couldn’t get cables to it. I got this as my Hail Mary. Took a minute to get it connected well but the car started immediately. Color me impressed! This is a must have, I’m really glad I got it. The only thing that needs improvement is the cables. Those alligator clips are tiny and hard to get a good grip with. That’s why my initial struggle. They could use a little extra length too. With all the things coated in plastic in modern engines, it was hard to reach a good ground. Got the job done though.

Reality is, you’ll probably use this more for other people than yourself—and honestly, that’s the point of being prepared. Compact, powerful, and exactly the kind of tool you hope sits quietly in the truck until someone’s battery gives up at the worst possible moment. Charges easily, feels solid, and gives a little peace of mind knowing you’re ready when the call comes.

It works Jumps my 6.7 on cold days, won’t jump it from dead not designed to though no complaints so far

handy product. Nice and compact. Way better then using someone else's car and having to carry jumper cables. Started the battery in my rav 4 that had run down after a couple of months not in use. bought as a failsafe for my EV in case the little battery is dead. (the 12 v battery starts the big one)

even using USB-C port to charge it, the max it takes is 10W. I work in a shop and use this thing very often and its got a little bit more guts than my NOCO GB40 which is 1000A (to be expected) bought it based on price (130CAD when i bought it) but I should have spent a little more for the NOCO GBX45 or even splurged for the GBX55 as they can do USB PD @ 60w or 65w i don't remember. biggest complaint is lack of an override feature, meaning if the battery in the vehicle is completely dead like 0v, the jump starter will not do anything, and you will have to find some small power source to attach to the vehicle to trick it. overall made very well i must say i like the clamps better than noco's offerings.

Will not boost a vehicle. I purchased this since it was a reputable brand and have never been so disappointment with a product. It did start my ATV, but that's it. I've tried it on my truck and car, no chance in hell. The flashlight function works, so if you want a $200 flashlight, here's your product! Spoke with someone else who has one and they told me theirs was useless as well, so it wasn't just mine. Recommend buying NOCO products instead.
