It's always frustrating when a product doesn't have cooking instructions when it really should. The only reference to cooking time is on the web product information under About this item. It says it is easy to cook, needing just about 8 to 10 minutes. I'm here to say that can't be right. We tried cooking the same way we do long grain white rice and after 30 minutes of boiling/simmering, not much water had been absorbed. We removed some water and continued cooking another 20 minutes. Still, it was a bit firm to the bite. We're going to search a bit more for a proper recipe. I think soaking for several hours in advance may do the trick. I tried the website for Darsa Organics, shown on the back of the package, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Using the "Brown Rice" setting on our automatic rice cooker, this Darsa Organics Brown Basmati Rice turned out perfectly to our taste. We like our rice a bit on the firm side, but if you like a softer cooked rice, you may need to use a little more water and cook it a little longer than you would with a white rice.The rice is delicious and the rice grains are perfect (very few broken). We use it with a curry dish that we like (which overpowers the rice taste) , but the texture was on point. But I heated up some leftover rice and added just a little soy sauce and the rice flavor was exactly what you want from a brown basmati rice.
