Works as expected, easy installation

Got this to add the auto close feature to our old Liftmaster garage door opener. Works like a champ.

This unit is a plug and play replacement for the old school 398LM. I haven’t used the auto close feature ever, but it’s nice to have. The lighted big button is a great improvement. Work for systems without MyQ as well.

I have the jackshaft door opener, the one that attaches directly to the garage door spring bar. It has the purple learn button. I had it installed back in 2011, and back in September the wall mount controller gave it up. The Liftmaster 889LMMC wall mounted controller was the replacement controller I purchased, and within 2 weeks, it randomly started to open my garage door. I had it replaced through Amazon, and the SECOND conytroller started doing the same thing within a month. I contacted Liftmaster/Chamberlain, and was sent my third controller, and within 2 days, it started doing the same damn thing. 3 BAD CONTROLLERS!! I replaced them with a basic wall mount controller, off brand, and so far, so good. It does not have the motion sensor capability like the 889 does. There is something inherently wrong with the 889 electronics, and Chamberlain should do something about it. IT'S A $70 UNIT!!!!

Works well to replace old opener. Beware, there is a timer switch which will close the door after so many minutes-- accidentally turned this on, and nearly ran into the door.

This is the correct replacement for Chamberlain model HD900D garbage door openers. Installation is easy. Disconnect the back up battery (if installed). Disconnect the power cord. On the existing opener panel mark which wire is red and which is the white. This is important. Disconnect the existing opener panel. Install the new opener panel. Plug in the garage door opener. The lights on the new opener panel will flash for about 5 minutes while it syncs with the garage door opener. When the yellow light remains on the sync is complete. Test the open/ closing operation. Mount the opener panel. Reconnect the battery (if installed). Test the lock, light functions. That is it.

Simple process that takes only minutes to replace your existing wall controller to this latest model from Liftmaster. I was able to replace the controller on my smaller of two garage doors with this Liftmaster wall control which now gives me the same controls on both doors. For the first time in over 10 years I now have automatic control to shut the garage door within a planned period of time 1, 5, or 10 minutes. Never have to worry about whether I forgot to close the door. Motion-sensor detector operation of the garage lights makes it convenient and safer to come home to a fully lit garage interior. A lock feature to prevent the door from being activated by any other controls. Plus wi-fi capable if you want to add the My-Q app. to have alerts sent to your phone every time the doors open or close. for added security. I'm really impressed by how simple it was to installl and how easy it was to program the features I wanted. Works with garages that feature the Purple or Red/Orange learn buttons on the garage opener. I never thought I could update my 2009 and 2010 door openers to have the same features as the latest models. Shipping the control to me was done the day after ordering and the unit was received two days later. Super fast in every respect and excellent tracking on the package. A+
