Because it is plastic didn’t have the desired effect for my mothers vision , may suit others but not for her

I found this item very uncomfortable to wear around your neck.would not recommended at all.

I got this because I couldn’t read a study score of a piece of music. I believe this can make items 5 x bigger and this has been a real help because I don’t think a magjfying glass would have helped or round where as this item is rectangular. The magnifying surface is made from plastic about 6” by 4”. The magnifying face is made from a fresnel pattern ie like in light house lenses that magnify the light so it can be seen from long distances. You also get a neck support. I found was a bit cumbersome and heavy.
