Excellent device -- EXCEPT THE TWO CHANNELS ARE NOT INDEPENDENTLY CONTROLLABLE! Useless!
If you've ever used a two channel TENS device, you know that where you position the pads for each channel always results in a different stimulation response. One location may be on a super-sensitive area or on a motor point, while the other location may need extra intensity or a different mode of stimulation to be effective. This device applies the exact same mode and intensity to both channels at the same time. That means that if you get one channel working comfortably/effectively, the other channel is probably not working well at all. This is just a dumb design.

Works well with lots of options on patterns, etc.
I have used a TENS unit since I hurt my back more than 35 years ago. Back then you could not buy one without a prescription and without investing hundreds of dollars, and insurance would not help at all!.The industry has changed, and these units keep getting better and better. And less expensive. And more readily available. In today's world, every family should have at least one of these units in their first aid cabinet, just like having a heating pad or a thermometer. Many insurance programs now consider them preventative therapy and pay the full cost of them. The only thing that has NOT changed is the sticky pad to make the electrical contact with the human body's skin and then to the muscle tissue. But there IS a secret to getting good results with these, and it's real simple: Keep the pads clean by cleaning the skin before putting the pads on. Use soap and water. Or if you have really oily skin, use rubbing alcohol, but make sure to re-moisturize your skin with lotion after you are done with the TENS unit. Oils and dust are the two worst enemies of these pads. Plus the body naturally draws moisture out of the pads, so it needs to be kept moist when not in use.I like that this unit now uses the standard charging system of a USB cord -- a BIG improvement over the batteries of old! This particular unit can be set for a set duration of time, and doctors and chiropractors will all tell you that no more than a 1/2 hour on stimulation should be followed by 1/2 hour (or more) without stimulation therapy. The secret of happiness with this TENS unit is simple: Keep your pads clean, and PLAN on changing them out whenever you use them a few times. I get maybe 15 or 20 uses out of a set of pads, so I plan to replace them after about 12 uses. Also, if the unit goes UNUSED for a long time (say, 3 to 6 months), chances are the pads will have dried out and need replaced (keeping them in a zip-lock bag does help extend the shelf life). So, the bottom line: always keep at least a few spare pads on hand. They are relatively cheap (a lot cheaper than an unnecessary visit to a doctor or chiropractor!). Unopened in their manufacturing package, they have a shelf life of a year or two.Bottom line for me: With its charging system and extremely small size (can be carried in a pocket while hooked up to you, and no one will even notice that you are wearing it!), and with the number of "cycles" programmed in to this unit, it beats my first $365 unit from 35 years ago HANDS DOWN! It also is as good as, or better than the 3 or 4 replacement units I've had over the years. I especially like the hard-shell case that can hold EVERYTHING associated with this TENS except the USB Power Block, which, by the way, does NOT come with the unit).Use yours in good health! I know I will be using mine!

I'm Not Impressed Easily But I'm Bedazzled By This TENS Unit...
What is not to like and/or love about this AVCOO TENS/EMS device. The manufacturer has provided a very nice zippered hard shell case and typically the standard color scheme of a TENS unit is black or possibly white but this setup in Red is Awesome. This little device with its' two channels packs a big punch in lessening my pain and it will keep working for up to 20 hours before it requires a re-charging of its' lithium battery. Over the years my previous TENS units usually have had up to 4 channels but to be honest, typically I use only one and not more than two when I'm hurting since the pain is usually localized in one general area so this little giant with 2 channels is plenty for me to rely upon for my pain relief. This kit provides a dozen upgraded gel pads that can be re-used over and over again. This unit also has a timer setting from 10 to 60 minutes and a screen lock to prevent your changing the settings by an accidental touch of the screen. Just be sure to read the included User Manual, it's an easy read and has some safety precautions and warnings everyone should be aware of prior to using their TENS unit. As far as the EMS side of this unit I've never had the need for its' muscle stimulation to aid in a rehab from a muscular injury. But if you ever wondered about the difference between the TENS vs the EMS you can look at it this way, TENS uses electrical currents to confuse pain signals which in essence diverts pain from being "felt" while EMS muscular contraction is used in therapy to treat swelling and inflammation that can put a strain on both the muscles themselves and their supporting joints and is also used for athletic training as well.I'm sure that each person who searches for a reliable TENS unit has at one time or another had a nagging injury that has prevented them from getting the rest they need during the day or night. Personally I found out about TENS units from my surgeon who performed a lower back fusion due to my stupidity while spending a number of years in free weight training and thinking I could keep pushing the limits of what my body was designed to handle, especially with my heavy squats. Just prior to my surgery my surgeon wrote a prescription for me to receive a TENS unit from a local medical supply house and that's when I realized how much a TENS unit could help me in relieving my sciatica pain. That was over 30 years ago and when I tend to overwork myself, still today, I find my TENS unit to be my best friend in handling my back pains. To be honest this TENS unit kit is worth every penny of the current retail price that it's being offered at but with the included discount coupon this kit is a steal for all that's provided and the way it is packaged it makes it a perfect travel kit when you're on vacation or a business trip...
