I knew this was going to be a good product the moment I picked it up. It was heavy, which immediately gave me confidence in the quality. For the price, I was pleasantly surprised, and it only got better from there. As I pulled it out of the box, I could see that the construction was very sturdy. I mounted it under my second workbench next to my compressor. It includes a hose that connects directly to the compressor, which made installation easier. After installing it, I pulled the hose all the way out to test how well the spring would retract it. It worked very well. I have had problems with automatic hose reels in the past not retracting all the way, but this one worked flawlessly. Another great feature is that the clicking sound when you pull the hose past the stop points is loud enough to hear clearly. Since this hose is 65 feet long, you can be quite a distance away while pulling it out. On my older hose reel, it was hard to hear the clicking, so I did not always know when to let it back in slightly so it would catch instead of reeling the entire hose back in. This one makes that much easier. I also like that the stop attachment on the end of the hose is movable. Because of where I mounted mine, I can now leave a little bit of hose hanging out instead of having the entire hose reel all the way back in. My only minor complaint is that the mounting bolts that came with it were a little too small for my liking. I replaced them with larger bolts, which cost me about $6 at Lowe’s. Since this unit is fairly heavy, I would suggest mounting it to a stud or something very solid. I mounted mine to a 2x6 just to be safe. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a sturdy, well-built retractable air hose reel.

Attached to the outside of the house and run the compressor out of the basement so I have air right in the driveway. Just enough reach for the entire driveway. Pulls out and retracts like a high dollar unit at a dealership. No “memory” to the hose, perfect, just lays flat unless you put a loop in it on purpose. Looks great, works great, easy to mount, dry sturdy, and all around smart buy!!

Better than I expected. This one is as good as any I have seen build-wise. It is a bit noisy as it ratchets, but that's fine as it locks in and releases perfectly. Hose is of excellent quality. I was going to change the fittings to low-restriction fittings, but these are excellent and less restrictive than some of my old ones, so I think they are fine for my needs. Leader hose is much longer than typical, which is one reason I wanted to buy this one. There are no issues as far as hose rewinding, as the spring mechanism is strong, so I kind of wish I got the longer hose ... I don't think there would have been any problem rewinding it. Looks great and very professional on my wall. Easy to mount and of a nice weight - not too heavy but super-strong frame.

Had mine installed for a few months now, use it several times a week in my home shop, works fine. Hose is decent quality, but not top tier. Will replace with a flexible hose when the time comes. Retract had plenty of power, doesn't leak.

I've had nothing but trouble with the cheap single arm reels, so I bought this one. It's built like a tank, the brass connectors are good, and (so far) the spool ratchet mechanism works just fine. No comment on the hose yet as I just installed it, but the design does allow for an easy hose swap if needed. Tips for installation - as instructed, make a paper template of the mounting holes. Mark your mounting spot (mine is on a 2"x8" mounted between ceiling joists) and drill pilot holes. Use two of the provided screws and run them almost all the way in for the two slotted holes. You can then pick up the unit, slide it into the slotted holes, and tighten the screws down. For the other two, I drilled them to 5/16" and ran through-bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts, and locked those down. That's probably fine, but I went ahead and backed out the two initial screws, drilled those holes to 5/16" as well, and ran two more through bolts/washers/lock washers/ nuts just to make it super secure. I also used a 1/4" NPT to nipple 90 degree fitting to run my feed hose from the ceiling so it's not sticking out so much.

Perfect, just as described, very sturdy and well made. Mounted to the wall without issue. Very easy to use with as the stop is adjustable for whatever height you mount the reel.

Seems to be well built and sturdy, the retract mechanism is robust, and the hose appears to be high quality. Easy to install, highly recommended! I also have a Milton hose reel in my shop; the Airzilla is at least as good as the much more expensive Milton, but the Milton comes with a a real rubber hose.
