My favourite poet this book has all the gems she has written in you can feel her power and strength as a woman floating through every word ..very inspiring love it hope fully I will get to read some of them to my granddaughter's in the future pass on the womanly inspiration... phenomenal woman and still I rise are my two favourites

Arrived quickly. Quality is great, cover is not worn and there are no markings to be seen. The poems in general are wonderful and everyone should be encouraged to read some Maya Angelou, she's a fantastic woman!

De la poésie, tout simplement
Ce recueil de quelque 210 pages (et au prix modique) recèle de bien belles choses. Oscillant entre une poésie rimée et en vers libres, la langue de Maya Angelou est plutôt simple, mais ô combien efficace. Les images semblent jaillir naturellement et font mouche. Nombre de poèmes sont engagés (condition des noirs, de la femme, ...) mais pas seulement: d'autres parlent d'amour, du temps qui passe, etc... Comme c'est toujours le cas en poésie, selon la sensibilité et les humeurs du moment, tout ne plait pas forcément, mais j'ai pris un vrai plaisir à découvrir cet auteur.

アメリカでは知らない人がいない人
読んでいてさわやかな気持ちにさせてくれる詞がたくさん載っています。 アメリカでは知らない人がいないほど有名な人ですが、 日本ではこの名前をきてピンとくる人は少ないのでは。 力強い言葉が差別を受けている人たちを励まし、 公民権運動にも深く関わったそうですが、 詞の一つ一つに暗さや重さがあまり感じられず、 読む人の気持ちを爽やかにしてくれます。 現代を生きる人たちの心も軽くしてくれるのではないでしょうか。 読んでよかったと思える久しぶりの本でした。
