Has dual usages, either top off and stop or drain and stop, I use it differently
I decided to use this in my skimmer cup, I have it set so if cup starts to overfill, it will automatically shut off the skimmer pump. Otherwise, the organics or imbalance in the water will cause a mess on the floor as the cup overflows. My skimmer is a hang on tank type. Others with a in sump skimmer may not care as the skimmate just overflows into the sump. For hang on tank users, essential to stop flow onto floor/carpet, etc.

Never worked reliably
Could not ever get consistent power to my pump while in the perfect range. When power was supplied, then it would never turn off. I tried switching the contacts and all sorts of arrangements.

Almost perfect
I had been looking for a controller to manage my aquarium (fresh water) auto top off and water changes. This fit the bill. I ordered one unit to test with. Tests were going good. The good:The unit works as it should. I intend to do two of them, one to manage automatic top off, and another to manage full water changes. The auto top off unit will be plugged in to a smart plug with Alexa voice control. This way it won't run while a water change (drain mode) is happening. The bad:The water sensor probes rust. As stated in other reviews, it would seem as though the metal is not stainless as described. I left it in a container of water while doing my tests and within two days corrosion occurred. (See pics)This is not acceptable for something that will be exposed to water and possibly leeching contaminants in to an aquarium. I'm now in the process of sourcing waterproof wires to replace these bad sensors.EDIT 8/31/24: In the original review I mentioned I was sourcing different sensors and settled on plastic float switches that are magnetic. This does not work. Apparently there is a circuit and this item uses the water as a conductor to open/close this circuit. I'm not sure why the designer would require conductivity between high and low sensors, when each sensor should just be a simple open/closed switch. The hunt continues.

Promising but didn’t last after one fill
Tested before installing, hi / lo sensors worked great. Installed in my ATO tank. Never came after a week of evap, examined the hi / lo sensors and they had already rusted out! A Water control product that can’t withstand water!! Wow, returned…..
