5 LB Pet Food Storage Container - Great For Travel!

Excellent product to keep in the pantry. Lid closure is great, very durable, easy to use, keeps food fresh longer.

I bought this and have been using it for months now to store my puppy's dry food. I love the size of it because is perfect to keep a good portion of food for her ready and handy. It doesn't take up too much space, so I am able to store the container on the shelve. It's made of good material and I can already tell it will last me a long time. The food stays nice, fresh, and sealed. I would recommend this product.

My daughter has a Guinea pig, and I recently switched him over to pellet bedding. I bought (2) of these and use one for fresh and clean bedding and the other for the soiled bedding. I recently had major back surgery, so I'm restricted to lifting about 5 pounds. This little storage container keeps me within my limits and still allows me to contribute to household chores. Works great! These are solid containers and airtight too! Soiled Guinea pig smells do not escape these containers! Fast delivery, great product. Zero regrets on this purchase!

I have a back injury and can no longer bend down to get the dog food out of the container. I wanted something that was small enough to go on top of a counter but large enough to hold maybe a month's or so worth of food. This fits the bill perfectly! I was a little skeptical about the size because I saw other items that were listed as the same size but said they held 10 pounds. I feed my puppers 1/3 of a cup two to three times per day. I measured out how much fit into this container. The container holds 29 cups of dry dog food, small kibble (18 pound dog). It will last us about a full month. Previously I was using a small trash can with a flip lid that held about 13 - 14 pounds of the dog food. It was too tall to set on top of a shelf and still be able to reach into it to get the food. So my options were to leave it sitting on a chair (which looked pretty bad), buy a shelf (which would cost $60 - $100), or go with something like this. Yes, I will have to fill this container every month as compared to every 3 months previously, but for us it will work just fine. Other reviews mentioned chips in the plastic, the lid not staying closed, or the seal not sealing tightly. I see none of this. There are no cracks, the lid opens and shuts just fine, and the seal seems to be fine. It is not as heavy duty as the trash can we were using; it is about the same as a sterilite clear plastic container. I would recommend this product. If things change or it breaks, I will update this review.

Only thing that would have been better is if the top lid were flat; I like to keep the cup scoop and a bottle of doggie glucosimine on top of it so they all transport out of the pantry at feeding time. Size is perfect and seal is goo, so far, holds enough food for about 4 days for my big girls. Much easier to handle and keeps kibble fresher than scooping out of the giant bag bin 2x a day.

I tried a few containers and this is the only one that had heavy duty non brittle plastic. I'm actually using it for rice as I have a small kitchen. It's really perfect for rice as the opening is large. I leave the scooper inside. It seals well around the rubber gasket and the clip is strong. The sticker was extremely hard to remove they must have used super glue? I laid a wet towel on it over night to hen scraped as much as I could off with a plastic scraper. I then repeated. I used cooking oil to get the residue off. This was unnecessarily painful. This one was actually more expensive to than the 10lb. At around $10 it's hard to beat. The product is a proper storage container.

Note pics: Van Ness 5-Pound Food Container has an excellent hinge (multiple hinge points v. other brand where the hinge has only 2 contact points) the other brand's hinges broke after a year of use. - reason for replacing. Not only were the other brand's hinges inadequate but the cost was 2x as much as the Van Ness container. The sealing capability for both containers are very good and do what I wanted them to do - hold pet waste outside our residence and minimizing odor. One other positive for the Van Ness container - it has a lower height profile and next to impossible to tip over.

I needed a relatively small, sealed container that I could keep on our patio to keep our bird feed in, and this worked perfectly. It's well-built and functional. It locks closed to keep critters out, and it's the size and light weight that I was looking for. We've had it for several months and have had no issues with it.

Good quality. I like the lid and that it opens up on one side only with a snap closure instead of the entire lid popping off. Easy to use. Holds an entire bag of cat food and i can still put a food scooper inside. The shape of it being more narrow and short made it fit into my cabinet perfectly

Los materiales son resistentes y de muy buena calidad, me gusto mucho este contenedor. Lo unico a considerar es que no es un contenedor que se selle tipo hermético. Se podria abrir con facilidad, esto lo digo por si consideras estarlo moviendo mucho, pero si no, cumple su proposito y a mi me encantó, ademas el costo beneficio es justo y hasta un poco mayor.

We previously had a narrow and tall container but needed something shorter (limited space where we keep it and I really had to watch measurements before purchasing) The lid is important as I needed one that would stay open (which this does) and this also has the locking lid Impressed with the quality

I have a 15lb dog so don't need a ton of food. This fits her 4lb bag of kibble perfectly. The lid opens easily and keeps freshness locked in when closed. It's a great design because it gives so much room to scoop as opposed to something with a small opening. I bought a second one to store her treats and keep them fresh.

I bought this one and the 10LBS one thinking they would stack, they do not. Still and decent treat storage container, seal very well.
