## Description

Made especially for pipeline applications, the Jackson Safety® PL280 welding helmet comes with a spring-loaded lift front for maximum versatility, and the Super Tuff nylon material is built for the harshest welding extremes. Spring-loaded lift front provides added flexibility by eliminating the need to raise the hood during pre/post preparation work. Slotted hard hat adaptor allow easy attachment to most slotted hard hats (Models 14302 and 14312). Super Tuff nylon material provides a lightweight yet durable design and performs in the harshest welding extremes. Patented lens retention system provides effortless loading of filter, cover, and protective plates. Comes complete with a Z87.1+ high impact polycarbonate window and a 2” x 4.25” Shade 10 filter.

Review: Poor quality overall - The hood was heavier than most and wide for its design. I bought it hoping to fit into tighter spots that would be difficult for my larger hood but turned out to be more bulky than my previous hood. It has casting seems all over it and defects on the hood shell. Also the hard hat clips broke the second day of use. Bad hood, bad lens, bad clips, bad buy.

This is a nice hood to use for your hard hat. Fits great and works great.

### ⭐⭐ Can not use an auto-darkening lens

The flip-up front which holds the #10 lens that is supplied with the helmet will not accept an auto-darkening lens. The slot which you put the clear plastic front shield and then the shaded lens in is not wide enough to put an auto-darkening lens in. It is difficult to file this slot wider. If you intend to use an auto-darkening lens you should look for a different helmet.
