We needed a small tape measure to pop in a draw so we didn't have to keep going out to the workshop to gt my husband's when I quickly needed to measure something. As it is in centimetres it can be easily used for comparing to many products if your trying to see how big they are before buying online. If measuring stuff around the house and utilising the hook at the end of the tape, I would take a mm or so off the measurement as the rivet holding on the hook is a little loose so it pulls away from the end of the tape. For some very basic measuring, and for only 5.99, I can't complain.

Great, hard wearing measuring tape. Accurate measurements and very easy to use. Super sturdy materials, would definitely last a long time. Great value for money.

I always seem to be short of tape measures so a spare is always good.This is a 5m / 16foot tape measure. The casing is chromed plastic but feels pretty sturdy. It's already survived a few drops without breaking. It also has a belt clip on the back for easy securing (drops were before I spotted the belt clip) and it holds it well.The measure is spring loaded with a right angled tab which hooks to surfaces and makes for easy measurements. The end of the tape is 0 so watch for stretch as it may add a mm or 2 when the end tab loosens. For now though it is good and accurate and very easy to read with cm (and mm) increments on 1 side and inches (and fraction) on the other.The tape is a tin sheet so it stays flat easily and is great for measuring awkward gaps easily. The sliding button on the top will also lock in place for an easy compare of sizesGood quality and value. Recommended. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it useful

Described as ‘chromium coated’ the casing feels and sounds more like plastic to me and it isn’t magnetic either.They don’t say if the blade is specially treated to stop damage or corrosion etc. eitherThese negative aside though, the blade moves smoothly and the lock works perfectly. It retracts without any problems. The blade is clearly marked in inches/feet and millimetres/centimetres and it even has marks at 16” intervals for studs.The tape measure is bulky enough to hold well without being too bulky and the belt clip works too.So, strange marketing hype aside, I think this tape is worth the asking price and it does the job so 5 stars from me.

This FamilyMall tape measure is very reasonably priced for its 5M length. It is quite well made and has both a metal tape and a metal casing. The tape measure is accurately graduated and it is big and easy to read. The lock mechanism works well and it is easy enough to handle. It is bigger and heavier than my Stanley Powerlock but that is only 3m long and costs more. The Stanley is however, slightly better put together and that bit sturdier than the FamilyMall.My Daughter is moving flats in a few weeks time, due to a change of jobs and so we will be using this to measure up for curtains and furniture. I am sure it will do that job very well.This tape is certainly good value for money and considering its price there is little, here, to complain about. It has all the features you would expect/want and it perfect for anyone on a budget. It will last as well and a pricier big name brand and so it probably comes down to personal choice. Personally, I would probably save a few pounds and go for this one.
