Okay, let me just say this: I’ve been in a toxic situationship with my type 4 hair for YEARS. I tried every curl cream, leave-in, mousse, oil, and deep conditioner. My hair shrunk up like a scared turtle and frizzed if the wind looked at me sideways. I’ve done cheap to expensive keratin treatments that were time consuming and would burn my eyes. My hair would be fine for a few weeks, then it’d revert or it would be severely damaged and stringy straight. I was hesitant to use a texturizer because I didn’t want to lose my curl pattern or end up with ramen noodle ends. But baby, this changed the GAME. The application was super easy, and the instructions were clear. I applied it mostly to my roots and upper hair shaft, smoothed over the ends, I did my complete processing time for about 12-13 min. Once I rinsed, I IMMEDIATELY I felt a difference, my hair was softer, easier to detangle, and still had bounce and volume. No chemical smell lingered, and it didn’t burn my scalp. Once I deep conditioned and styled? MA’AM. My hairline laid downn. The rest of my hair still has curl and body, just toned down the chaos. It gave me manageability without stripping away my identity, and honestly… that’s all I ever asked for. If you’ve been struggling with uncooperative shrinkage, frizz, or having to do an entire chem lab to get a twist-out to look right? This is your sign. I should’ve done this years ago.

Does the basic job but lacks advanced features. For a beginner, it's fine. More experienced users might want something better. That's about it.

I have naturally curly hair. I'm mixed race so my hair is fine but Super tightly curled. This product is exactly what I've always needed to loosen my curl to make my hair easier to manage and style. I let it dry naturally as I always do because heated drying only damages my hair. I used my normal leave in with just a tiny bit of oil and let dry. My hair curled beautifully without that tight uncontrolled frizzy look. I'll definitely buy this product again.

Just like the other reviews say, read the instructions and follow them. Do not use on color, relaxed, any type of chemically treated hair. I figured since I cut my hair to a pixie, I had enough new growth. I left it in for 5 min with keratin, colored hair and it got too straight in the ends and had to cut it shorter than I wanted and what was left was soft not curly. So dont be fooled. If you have 4c hair you will not texturize to a 3b....lol. this in my opinion is a very mild relaxer. If you want you are attempting is a curling texturize look. I don't think this is for you. If you have an unmanaged afro you want to soften. This product is perfect for you just slap it in quick comb and rinse out in 5 min.

My hair was SO dry and edges super brittle. I used this stuff and my hair is long, lustrous, my curls even more bouncer! Combs easier, more manageable, softer. I LOVE THIS STUFF. I used to use Just for kids and that workedwell too, but wanted to try something alittle different. I could tell this is alot stronger as my scalp burned a bit but I left it on too long. I still have my curls!

Old or expired

I wanted to share my experience and give a few tips since I have used this now and the Just for Me in the past. Just for Me was not the best results. I followed the box exactly and had curls looser than I wanted and later parts of my hair broke off. I literally cut the broken ends and waited a couple years for it to grow back out. 🤨 I like this better. However, I made a few changes from the last experience. My hair pretty much turned out like the cute model on the box, hers more perfect since I'm a grown woman. HERE IS THE KEY: 1) I add more of my own oil to the relaxer mix in addition to theirs. (Castor oil). 2) Put coconut oil on my own hair prior to application for protection. 3) only processed for 7 mins rather than the recommended 8-9 min for my hair type. Once your curls are gone, they GONE so I'm not playing. Now, if I want curls even looser, I will go back in again in a few months. The neutralizing shampoo foams up really well and there is a lot of it. Wasn't enough conditioner so I added my own, good ole, Man N Tail baby. Lol. Going to get the ORS hair mayo because like I said it broke off so bad last time, I may need something extra strong. Hope this helps someone!
