The 1-Minute Artist: Learn to Draw Almost Anything in Six Easy Steps

This is an awesome book! My 6 & 10 year old took it out immediately and began drawing fun little creations, and even my 13yo enjoyed drawing a few of the characters. There are several different types of things that the kids can draw: animals, birds, architecture (buildings and landmarks), dinosaurs, aliens, robots, doodlebugs, fish, transportation (land, water, & air), garden (flowers, insects, etc.), great outdoors, and people.One thing I like about this book is that, because the pictures are drawn step-by-step, it's something my children can do without my help and supervision. Though the pictures are quick and easy for the kids to draw, some of the drawings look very detailed, and there are ideas written in to help the kids take their drawings to the next level. For instance, they are encouraged to make a scene with the characters in it or to add captions of what the characters are thinking or saying. With the wide variety of themes in this book, the options for creativity are endless.Although the book is designed to be drawn in, to keep it looking nice we have opted to have our kids draw on a separate sheet of paper or in their drawing notebooks. That said, because there is room to actually draw in it, it also could be used as an alternative to coloring books and word puzzles/games on a road trip with no extra stress/mess. I'm including a photo of the initial drawings my 6yo did the first day she had the book. She focused on it for quite awhile, and was pleased with the results of her work. A day or two later she went back and colored them in. We plan to purchase more as birthday gifts for friends.

I’m an adult, but I love this book! Very easy step by step illustrations. Cute drawings. Uplifting and a stress reliever. please make another book.

great book for ideas for rock painting

This is a really fun book that teaches people of ALL ages how to draw simple but cute things. With a few minor changes you can easily convert the drawings shown into "your own" works of art!

This is an amazing book. I originally purchased it for myself, but now my sons (ages 5, 7 and 10) have gotten into it as well. I believe there's not another book on the market that compares with this one, maybe I haven't been looking hard enough. The layout and flow of this book is done remarkably well, and has surpassed my expectations! Planning on buying more!

Took a little while to arrive but great book.

Really easy to follow. My 7 year old loves it and so do I! Even my 4 year old can give it a go.

I love how simple this book is, and how many drawings there are to choose from. My 8 year old loves it.
