STAR BRITE Teak Cleaner & Brightener Gel Spray - 32 OZ - Vertical Surface Stick Formula - Prepares Wood for Oil & Finishes

I have a lot of outdoor teak in Florida and have tested nearly every teak cleaner on Amazon, including all of my Star brite favorites. I have even made a couple before/after videos about them. I discovered that putting the cleaner in a spray bottle or garden pressure sprayer made it easier to get into the corners and in between slats of furniture, and cut the time to clean dramatically. Well, they listened to the feedback and now sell it in a spray bottle, but... they made it even better by adding gel so it sticks to vertical surfaces for longer. The result is the fastest, easiest teak cleaning I have ever done. As a bonues, the spray gel wastes less product on the ground, so IMO this new formula is the winner in the category of teak cleaner/brightner 1 step combos.Tips. I like to use with a scotchpad or similar. My favorite is STAR BRITE Flexible Head Scrubber Replacement (Medium) (Red) (040126) B0064N14MU because it is thick, long, and fits between the chair slats and is easy to thread back and forth to clean super quickly. They should sell it as a combo because it is a must IMO. Although this does a good job as a brightener, I still follow with the Star brite Step 2 Teak Brightener, especially on pieces I want to show off. It is very easy to just spray it on and hose it off and is no work at all, so i do it for the extra pop if I am going to use transparent teak oil. (This optional step is not needed if using pigmented teak sealer because it doesn't matter if bright or not.)UPDATE: I tested it on my fence yesterday and WOW! I sprayed it on, waited 3 minutes, and hosed it off. I did NOT use a pressure washer, brush, or anything but a common garden hose nozzle. The results are amazing! Now I want to clean my entire fence with it. Pics attached.

Was really easy to use and had GREAT results. See my before and after photos. This bench had not been addressed in about 15 years. Wear gloves and do this outside where you can hose the item down when you’re done.Did this entire bench with about 2/3 of the bottle.

Definitely something you want to use in a well ventilated area or outside. I've used it on furniture and it's worked wonders. I used a little bit on an area of the floor that was inconsequential, this was a very dark wood floor, nearly black. It did not work well on the darker floor. This could be because it's a very old floor that's beyond help, I do not hold it against the spray. Would consider ordering again or recommending.

This spray is fantastic! I applied it to an old side table, and it instantly revitalized and refreshed the look. I was initially considering refinishing it, but this gel spray proved to be a great solution. Note that it does have a distinct odor, so wearing a mask while using it might be helpful!

I am surprised and happy with how well this Teak cleaner from STAR BRITE works. It is a cleaner for wood furniture that needs cleaning before reoiling or staining. It is very easy to use. Spray on. Wait a minute or two and scrub off. You can apply it with a metal bristle brush. I used a blue scrub pad. I did not put a lot of time or muscle into my cleaning effort. Lots of grime and that “stained” weather gray color outdoors wood furniture turns over time came off. This product works on more than just teak. I am marking it down a star because it made the wood appear very dry. I am going to reoil with teak oil, so that will add moisture and shine. This product did an excellent job cleaning my old patio teak table.

I did not think this would work as well as it did, but clean and brighten it did. I have a beautiful, never been finished, expandable raw wood Teak table that I started using on the outside patio, before protecting it. I do everything on that table, including a lot of cooking and frying with multiple tabletop indoor and outdoor appliances. This table got dirty, compounding, I live in an area that is taking out the forests and fields not to put up a parking lot, but new homes. So, there is a lot of construction dirt, which is landing on this table. I was not having much success with simple water baths. Enter the gel, which really clings onto the wood surfaces. Now I do use elbow grease and an old bath scrub brush, with the gel. The results have been amazing. The grime has been washed away and I really cannot see the cooking oil stains. Teak is soft, so I was worried maybe this could damage the woods. So far, that is not the case. The wood looks more brighter when I first got this, allowing me opportunity to immediately oil this.ValueIt’s on the expensive side, however, my teak furniture was outrageously expensive.WarningsThe active ingredient appears to be two (2) acids, so I look like a hazmat worker, when using this. So, I wear heavy duty rubber gloves, a uniform, and eye and face protection. I also use a mask.
