I am a totally blind man myself, and I have purchased this product knowing the feature set and I can tell you it doesn't talk. This is a microwave that simply connects through a wi-fi connection and uses the MSmartHome app along with alexa to control the unit. The alexa device will do the talking. One has to follow the given instructions to connect the unit to the app and the wifi to get it to work. It doesn't have to talk to be used by us blind people unless you want one with a voice built in and there is only one or two I know of that have that feature. **Q: does the interior Light stay on while cooking AND when you open the door?** A: Yes **Q: does light come on when door is opened?** A: Yes and also when in use.
