I needed a webcam, but while searching, I realized that none offered better quality than my iPhone 16 Pro. That’s when it hit me—why not look for an iPhone mount for my monitor instead? Sure enough, I found a few options, and this one stood out because it could also be used on my MacBook Air. When I received the mount, I was immediately impressed by the high quality, from the packaging to the product itself. It’s incredibly sturdy and sits perfectly on top of my monitor. The magnet securely holds my rather heavy iPhone 16 Pro with no issues. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase!

The iPhone has a much better camera than the one built into the Apple Studio display, particularly in low light. This works great for Zoom calls. It's heavy, but if it's staying at home, that's a good thing as it will likely last and I think it must be heavy to be stable with a big phone, like my iPhone Pro-Max (the biggest iPhone). It's not too heavy to lug around, but there are lighter options available. The stand is adjustable and I found I could point it as I wished. It can easily be transported to the living room TV for a facetime call with family as well (i.e. screen cast to the TV). I should also mention that the stand comes in very nice packaging, making this a good choice for a gift. Recommended.

To use a MagSafe charger in this stand, the charger must have a 0.220" outer diameter. I screwed a thin steel plate to the bottom side of my kitchen island where I sit for breakfast. This stand sticks to that plate magnetically when I am not using it. When I need it, I just reach under the counter and put it on top. It holds my phone in portrait or landscape mode. The charger remains plugged in under the counter; it works great! It also allows me to place my phone on top of my big screen TV when I want to include a crowd in a video conference. I stopped using it in my office when I set up a Wall mounted 32-inch display because the camera needs to be on the side of this display. Placing the camera on top of such a large monitor provided an unflattering perspective.

I’ve had this product for about a year now and can say that it has been solid. It’s built well, albeit a little bulky. Today, however, I was surprised to find what looked like black ink leaking out from the magnetic puck piece. I looked into it to find that magnetic liquid is sometimes used in something like this along with an actual magnet. I’m assuming that’s what the ink substance is. It did stain my hands but I somehow managed to keep it from staining my clothes and bag. I’m a bit disappointed to find that the sealant failed after only one year. Your mileage may vary. 2 stars for the sealant failure. Otherwise a really good product. **UPDATE** It's worth saying that once I wrote this review, the seller quickly connected with me to see how they could make it right. I appreciate a company that stands by their product and offers good customer service so I am changing my review to 5 stars.

I really wanted to like this mount. Looks great on paper with multiple functions but the biggest downside for me was the weight. I bought this mostly for the continuity camera function but once you put this on top of the screen for your mac and then mount your iPhone, it overwhelms the hinge for the screen. Super easy for it to either bend all the way back or forward and losing the mount or phone or both. Hard to get just the right balance. On top of that, it wasn't very secure to the screen. Meaning, there was too much play with just the mount "attached" to the screen. As soon as I tried to make any little adjustment, it just wanted to come off. It's well made, has a lot of uses and functions but for what I primarily wanted it for, it just didn't work. YMMV Edit: I upped my stars to a 3 due to the fact that SODI reached out and offered a full refund. I'd have to say that's pretty impressive as it shows they stand behind their products whether it works for you or not. I will definitely check out their other items for this simple fact. It's nice to see this type of response from a company.

Works great with my iPhone 16 and my prior 14 max pro. I use it for MS teams video calls, and sometimes recording videos using my MacBook Pro. I don't use it as often as I thought I would. With this setup you can't use your phone for anything else during a long video call, you can't use it to check texts or anything on the side, but for what it is this is a solid choice. My iPhone definitely outperforms my Logitech 1080p webcam that I used to think was pretty good. I still use my Logitech webcam's microphone which I think sounds better than the MacBook microphone or is better placed to pick up my voice perched on top of my external monitor right next to this phone mount.

I was immediately impressed by the high quality of the mount. I was expecting something a bit more flimsy but it's quite sturdy and it looks and feels premium. My original plan was to use it only to mount my phone to my monitor for meetings since that video quality is way better than my webcam but I was also impressed by how it looks as a phone stand. I liked that you can also remove the magnetic portion and use only that for a thin monitor like the one on a macbook. On that same note, I loved that you can use a MagSafe charger instead of the magnet that comes with it so your mount now doubles as a charger, genius! In general I highly recommend it

The magnetic insert repeatedly fell out during normal use, causing the phone to detach. One of the drops cracked my screen protector, so I returned the item. A phone mount needs to be secure at all times, and this one was not.
