Clothes came out of the washer with residue - particularly noticable on darks. I had been using Calhoun liquid in the rinse but it didn't consistently solve the problem. Since using Charlie's not only is the residue gone, but the clothes look cleaner and brighter. One thing I did discover is that if you have a HE washer you need to be very careful not to use the same amount of detergent that you would use in a conventional washer.
