I applied to six ant hills in my yard yesterday. The ants seemed to be attracted to it and I saw several walking off with granules and disappearing down the holes in the mounds. Today there is not a single ant to be seen! Unlike previous products I used before, I did not have to sprinkle it all around each mound and apply water afterwards. I simply sprinkled a couple of tablespoons full on top of each mound and that was it. The ONLY thing I don't like about this stuff is the smell, but it's so worth the results.

It does effectively kill the mounds, but I’ll be danged if it kills the strays. Just sitting on ground level cement deck and those critters are everywhere. This product works great on mounds but not so much the travelers. We even put down Mule Team borax to help ward of creepy crawlers. Fire ants are immune to it all.

This is hands down one of the best products for killing ants. They didn't spend much time on designing a lid for easy application. I found that the lid from a large coffee creamer container fits perfectly and makes applying easy.

I heard a lot about this product and I really wanted to try it, it promises to eliminate insects and pests from home and I really need to try it!! I hope it's worth it

This worked well on the fire ant mound in my backyard. I noticed no ant activity by the second day, and it seems to kill the colony effectively. It’s also very easy to apply and doesn’t require watering, which is convenient. The downside is the smell — it’s pretty strong during application. I also think the bottle design could be improved. There’s no inner cap or flow control at the opening, so it’s easy to accidentally pour out too much powder in one spot.

My hubby tried a few different things over the years for the numerous ant hills that were popping up through our paved driveway. They would pop up close through other pavers, whether he used liquid or granules. We finally identified they were a specific type of fire ant (as they had the black abdomen) called the Red Imported Fire Ant and read this required the chemical in Ortho Orthene. I shook around the multiple small mounds on the pavers as well as where I saw movement on the pavement figuring they were out in search of food. I was very surprised to see no action from any of thew small mounds, or new small mounds, on the pavers the very next day. I decided to use it in the backyard as I noticed sparse areas around flagstone. Once again, it took one day to see results. NOTES: -Works exceptionally for the Red Imported Fire Ants: for us it was within the 24 hours -Smells like a decomposing rat (it's a bit putrid when you are near it - worth it) -Use when area is dry and not expecting rain -One of my dogs seemed attracted to it in the back yard (digging in the dirt for the smell), he's ok despite digging in the spots. So pleased this worked! The key is correct ant ID as they certainly needed a very specific treatment.
