They changed the recipe on Jaipur Vegetables... and ruined it.
For years, I ate Jaipur Vegetables at least once or twice a week. It was my favorite default meal after a long day. One day I received my regular subscription order and noticed the package had changed but didn't think anything of it until I poured a pouch out over a plate of rice. The once thick and creamy sauce now had a watered-down minestrone-like consistency. The liquid was so thin it ran straight down through the rice. The taste was bland and overwhelmed by tomato juice, and not much else.Comparing the old and new ingredients, they've lowered the protein and fiber content and bumped up "tomatoes" as the main ingredient. As of this review, they still haven't updated the ingredients on the Amazon listing, so know that the ingredients in the ad may not be what you are actually buying. I can't imagine why a company would water down their product and decrease the flavor unless it was to cut costs.

Excellent dish, worth much more than the price.
Really great and flexible!I first came upon this Eastern cooking some time ago in SE Asia while in the military. If this had been available in MRE's, it would have been truly wonderful. It is excellent when eaten alone but is amazing with basmati rice or (the way I prefer) with properly prepared sushi rice.I recommend this very strongly. A Texas friend compared the taste and seasoning to his favorite Texas chili (even though his does not contain potatoes). Maybe it should.Try it! You will not be disapointed.

One of Tastier of the Tasty Bites
I eat a lot of the Tasty Bite products simply because of how convenient they are too make. This one is definitely up there among my favorites.Taste: Compared to their flagship Madras Lentils, this is definitely a much more flavorful meal and potentially one worthy of that $18 price tag. The mushrooms taste great and there is actually a very nice spicy flavor to the meal, unlike the Madras Lentils which are just bland.Price: Is the improvement in flavor worth the doubled price of $18? I'll leave that decision up to you. For me, it's definitely something I consider purchasing in smaller quantities to supplement my microwaved foods pantry. If you enjoy Tasty Bite and want something more flavorful I highly recommend this one.

Kashmir Spinach: A bit soupy, but still very good
This review is for the Kashmir Spinach variety - it seems that Amazon lumps the reviews for all the different Tasty Bite varieties together (this probably explains why they all have the same star rating). I have no idea why Amazon does that - It's not much help in determining which varieties are most popular.Anyway, the Kashmir Spinach is very good. The spinach tastes fresh and is not at all rancid; the seasoning is on point (though I prefer it a little hotter), and the cheese cubes taste good. It is a bit too soupy, however, and while it does have a nice flavor, the soupyness does keep it from getting five stars.I like the Tasty Bite dishes because they are made from quality ingredients with no preservatives added. As with most prepared foods, the sodium content is a bit on the high side, but not outrageously so.

Absolutely Awful
I thought it was a good idea to get some of these as work lunches, but I cannot make myself swallow a bite of this. The flavor is slightly sour, maybe even moldy. The potatoes are simultaneously under-cooked and overcooked; I know this sounds technically impossible, but here is is on my plate. Mushrooms... I normally love mushrooms. These are perhaps the first mushrooms I ever encountered that I absolutely hate. they are sour and slimy. I have tried mixing these with a spicy cause, but still wasn't able to eat them. I would need to be seriously starving to stomach one of these down.

Hate Eggplant But Love Punjab! And the box!! lol
My husband first picked this stuff up from our local Grocery Outlet and we've been hooked on it ever since! I'm generally not a big fan of eggplant, personally, I don't much care for its texture when cooked (raised eating it cooked Afghan style which most would say is especially good)... But something about this stuff. It's just wonderful! You've really got to try it. I'll also say, I don't care for a lot of Currie or Indian food either. The flavor and smell of this isn't too heavy. It's excellent with rice or any kind of flatbread. We especially like it with Wasa, we also have on Subscribe and Save here. It compliments this very well!http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0036RCYYY/ref=sr_ph?ie=UTF8&qid=1425198918&sr=1&keywords=wasaThis makes for a super easy lunch or snack on the go when time is lacking to prepare anything. One of these bags cooks in under 2 minutes in the microwave (although we don't cook in bag as suggested, we use a bowl)... A couple crackers and you've got a filling, healthy, yummy little meal! Doesn't need any added seasoning, it's just right as is, we think.Lastly, my favorite part (see photo lol), is the way it's packaged out. Haha... The little things! The box is just pantry perfect! Lol It's convenient, we have a grab and go shelf in our entry closet, where we keep snacks and such that are shelf stable. The way it's shipped, it's perfect for this, and the box can be reused if needed for other items. (DIYers rejoice... We can duct tape the box to strengthen it for longer use, lol!)Oy yeah, Punjab... Dee~lish!! Highly recommend. Smile. Hope this helps!
