I needed to create a leather patchwork book cover for a project. My son wanted a cross body bag that looked like an old wizard's book. I have never worked with leather and thought it might be a bit advanced for my skill level. These tools were just the thing I needed, easy to figure out and very sturdy. The waxed thread was perfect for the leather. Everything I needed was in this kit.

I purchased this kit so that I could do some leather projects, first and foremost I need to patch a hole in the side of my boot, and I want to use a leather patch to do so. I wanted a curved leather needle, so we got this. The box clearly states "11 leather sewing needles." Great, I expected the wedge-tipped needles that make leather sewing so much easier. These are not they, or at least not all of them are, and none of the curved needles are. There are 3 wedge tipped needles. The rest are simply sturdy needles, which kinda work? But just not as well, and I am a bit disappointed. However, I really can't complain otherwise. They tools are all pokey and sharp, and the thread is all very strong.Simply disagree about the leather sewing needle definition, which given it is a leather sewing kit... Well, it looses a star in my opinion.

Not sure what experienced people need or how they use it but I got it because I needed to fix the tear in my backseat. The kids are rough on everything. I USED the thickest thread and a curved needle fix. I have been seeing jeans by hand for years so I knew how to close but this kit makes it very easy to fix auto upholstery. The price is nice for the quality of product you get. You get a variety of threads and needles plus some other supplies. Everything looks good when you open the package. Even a thank you card

Needed to sew a big tear in my Toyota truck seat. This did the trick! Very good quality threads in many colors, wide variety of needles, punch tools, seam rippers, etc. This is a GREAT kit for the do-it yourself sewing repair person.

I was trying to get into the leather craft and thought this kit was a great value. In many ways it is, you get a lot of thread and some useful tools. However, the needles broke on me after a few uses, the scissors had a hard time cutting through the thicker waxed thread and the threading aid broke off after only a few applications of use with the thicker waxed thread. Over all, mostly ok but I ended off buying better needles, scissors and threading aid.
